Hey guys, I was given a TON of old pictures from my pop this past weekend. I’m a really nostalgic person and had a really good upbringing, so I often think about my youth and stuff before my family dwindled down to basically 3 people and after my parents got divorced (which was for the better).

Anyway, while I was looking through the photos, I noticed something: everyone wore clothes that were reasonably dignified and not so obnoxious as they are nowadays. I’m talking like pictures in parks and stuff like that. Everyone looked — I don’t know how else to describe it — normal. This was like, maybe 20 years ago. No skin tight clothes, no facial pincushion piercings, and honestly everyone just looked so utterly normal there was nothing bad to really be said. Men were men, women were women, kids were kids.

The reason I bring it up is because I can’t believe how much stuff has changed over the years. I mean, to me anyway, you know? I suppose this isn’t really about women or anything, but the main point I’m trying to get at is that back 20 or so years ago people looked presentable and women looked not like poisonous monsters perpetually in heat. I assume nothing about their attitudes has changed back then, but at least they didn’t look like pure evil like they do now.

I guess it’s just my rose-tinted glasses getting the better of me, but people made life look mostly harmless back then. I know it sounds naive to say, but from a kid’s perspective, nobody looked like they were going to spit on you, and it didn’t look like people were so mistrusting, resentful, or closed off to others. It makes me wonder what happened.

Just wanted to share, since I don’t think anyone else would really find a correlation in the other subs.
