Then I went to college and saw for myself that power is all that truly attracts and matters to overwhelmingly most women. Men truly are objects to women not the other way around. I remember i looked up to my dad and thought he was amazing at working with tools and i wanted to follow him.

Many young men see grown men and know how wise they are and decide to follow on their footsteps. There is nothing wrong with that.

Unfortunately, I don't think most of these young guys will stick to this. Even an average young man is going to attract some female attention at some point. And that is hard to ignore and will often override your rational mind, especially when you are inexperienced and with high testosterone. Good luck to them though.

It's striking that the person they refer to for another point of view, a psychologist, only has some very vague and wishy-washy things to say about role models and a rudderless generation.

Clearly that's untrue, even in the example presented. That teenager clearly looked up to his brother and his uncle, and observed that relationships with women ruined their lives. That's not 'chaotic', that's straightforward learning from the world around you and the experiences of people you care about.

I get the feeling what she means is that there are fewer role models that live happy traditional family lives, that could guide the kids in that direction, but there are good reasons for that.
