"Who hurt you?" is a derailing tactic designed to shut you up when you're winning an argument. It's a taunt that if you don't respond to makes it seem like you're stunned into silence remembering past pain (haha pansy), and if you do respond to gives the taunter a chance to jump on you for "see you're not a real man^tm because you feel things" (haha pansy again)

It's designed to shut down critical thinking and make the argument about personal shit, essentially an ad hominem plus shaming plus no true scotsman rolled into one. don't rise to the bait. Pain is irrelevant when we're talking about facts not feelings. Deflection denied.

Top this: Got pregnant cheating on me, poked a hole in a condom for (my) birthday sex, blamed it on me, expected me to raise the kid while she pursued her dream of being a writer. I asked her to get a morning after pill the next day - constant phone calls, she couldn't get a break from work, she got stuck in traffic, didn't get the pill. Literally the next day she's craving shrimp (also a vegetarian). I didn't figure this whole scheme out until a couple of years after breaking up. Her entire family was fucked up, I should have know better than to get involved. The sex was unbelievably fantastic, though. Just like with all the crazy ones.

We all hurt ourselves by believing, often after being shown the truth again and again that life would be different for us. Even my generation (I am older, grew up in the 70's) saw the signs as our mothers were the first wave of cunts to rake our dad's over the coals. And for those whose families stayed intact back then (it did still happen then), I know you saw me and the others like me in your classes and neighborhood.

The fact is men have been studied, as to what makes us tick. What kind of shit would a man want to be so true that he would ignore the reality staring him dead on in the face. The writings attributed to the Buddha have many truths to them, although I imagine I will never give up wanting certain things that I enjoy.

But this suffering men go through with women is largely of our own making. We ignore what is so obvious in some sick need we have to fulfill this Leave it to Beaver lifestyle that just is not possible. Let go of that desire, and most of the suffering a woman brings is nullified. The majority of suffering left is the part where daddy government steals our resources to pay for her bills so she can pretend she is independent, and force those of us who were dumb enough to mate with them to be indentured.

Who hurt me once I was old enough to be my own man. For the most part, I did.

That's their argument, except they're dumb women who use illogical gotchas that short circuit a mans logical brain.

My MGTOW adventure didn't begin with any one person, or any one experience, or gender, situation, or aspect of existence. If I had to guess, it started for me in kindergarten. It began with watching how adults go about their life. It began with the recognition of pathetic authority.

I think that was the beginning, and I think as I grew more aware each experience exacerbated my initial misgivings. From watching ignorant teachers, to women with "authority", governing their surroundings with illogical feels, to fat slob cops, injustices, greed, "it's business, nothing personal." But honestly my first 20 years of life was spent watching dough rise and taking the scientific stance on social behaviors. Watch and do nothing and don't contaminate the results through interference. Eventually I realized it was best to maintain that policy as what I saw of people did not lend itself to my participation.

I think it was just realizing how absurd society is overall. I lost faith in adults really quickly. I do remember one time my teacher leaned over my shoulder and her breath went straight into my nostrils and it was the worst blend of shit, coffee, smoke and yeasty halitosis. I remember thinking "why is she here? She's a disgusting slob who has no business teaching me about life."

I grew up without a father figure, which, oddly enough, probably stripped me of my training wheels out of the gate. In a single mother home, a young boy has to figure shit out for himself. I remember stories that my mom still occasionally speaks about today, about how my father would beat her. When I was younger I used to wonder why a man would beat his wife/girlfriend/mother of his children. But as I grew up and watched my mom fall into and out of relationships, her behavior, and how it brought misery to myself and my brother, the mystery to my question eventually just dissolved and I saw why (though she still claims innocence and ignorance). My question now is, if I put myself in my father's shoes, I would go nuclear from the get go and tell her to be gone. My new question is why did my father put up with it, the shit tests, and the perpetual childlike behavior and risk himself trying to correct (even if through misguided means) that which is unchangeable? I'll never know my father well enough to know that, nor will I have the chance to ask him. I'm just going to write it off as him being an idiot too.

Experience hunger, starvation and loss and realize how quickly you become invisible or despised. Stay clean, don't do drugs, do things right but retain your pride, refuse to whimper and beg just to be included and you will see how useless society is.

You realize how rare friendship and love is and recognize how 99.9999% of people are pure, animated stacks of shit, with flimsy principles and almost zero value. Who wants to be part of this with them?

I try to minimize people as much as possible to live.

I know this sub likes to basically cry exclusively about women. But to me, MGTOW has very little to do with women. They're just a plot, a drip in the bucket to me.

I wouldn't necessarily say 'hurt'. More, a former close friend of mine, whom I admit to liking at the time, chose to hook up with a paedophile, then proceeded to drive my closest friend to attempt suicide by manipulating him, as he was hopelessly in love with her (he has major emotional issues stemming from maternal abuse and an incident when he was younger). I publically called her out on her shit, and her bitch friends sided with her over me, AFTER I provided proof of her actions. Thing is, unlike others here, I have gotten over the hate stage. Yes, some part of me is occasionally sad that I won't be able to experience what people call love, that I won't deny. But I know what women are like now, in their entirety. I know the risks, and I know that my self-preservation will always come first, above all else. My decision to abstain is not based on anger, on bitterness, or on sadness, but on a logical and pragmatic decision to look out for myself first and foremost.

Women do ruin everything though. It's remarkable how destructive they are, and how little they create and innovate. If they didn't have wombs and slime tunnels, they would seen as the criminals, liars, and sleazeballs, they are. No one else has the free reign to simply destroy from boredom, or from perceived slights, or simply the feelings right now. Things they don't like about the process of living is somehow our fault. They act like animals but expect us to be gods. We're both human, men and women, only human and nothing more but we are human and need to be held above animals. There is a highly-upvoted post there about "who hurt you" followed by links implying that anyone who complains about, say, being homeless, is actually an "incel."
