When my daughter was 3 she had her tonsils taken out.

She comes out of surgery, looking pissed off and confused. She is immediately descended upon by her mom, and a squad of female nurses and such.

I'm just sitting in the recovery room in a rocking chair by myself.

My daughter is having none of it... just pissed, refusing to be comforted or follow directions. She's surrounded by women, but catches a glimpse of me through the wall of women, and immediately makes the universal sign for I want daddy.

Every female in the group is just aghast as my daughter is placed in my lap, puts her head against my chest, and proceeds to fall fast asleep.

With no further attention to garner, the group of women disperse with sour looks, except for a smirking smile on the face of one old nurse... old nurses know...

Same thing happens to me all the time. Especially with animals. The animals of almost all my ex's have loved me and preferred me to them, much to their annoyance.

The only exception was this one girl that was a FwB. She and I only met for sex. We never stayed over at each other's house. Just "hello, i'm here for your genitals" type of situation.

That's a pretty funny gif and judging by that womans demeanor and ridiculous attire, I bet she took it personally. You never know..It's quite possible she'll embark on some kind of retaliatory campaign towards the kid if she is his mother.. possibly trying to subtly sabotage the relationship with his father or some other corrupt shit like forcing the kid to watch the new star wars movies. When it comes to a womans mind, it doesn't matter if it's a fucking cat or an adult human who slighted her, they will all be held accountable.

By the age of the little boy and the couple's apparent age...I think it's grandma and grandpa coming to visit. The kid (and the dog) have more fun with gramps than grandma, who probably just kicks the kid and the dog outside when she has to babysit them. Gramps goes the extra mile and actually plays with them and shows them cool stuff.

There was a pretty significant length of time during my early childhood when I literally ran and hid under the dining room table when I heard my dad pull in and come in the door. My dad and I are relatively cool now, and there definitely are plenty of overbearing women and other female relatives out there but not all fathers and grandfathers are as great as these comments make them out to be.

This reminded me of a funny story, back when I was a wee little shrimp, my parents would take me us to our "uncle's" - which basically any family my parents went to drink and party would be our aunts and uncles. You know, kids don't care if the guy you see once or twice a month is your relative or not, he is your uncle and that is how you call him.
What is funny, this was probably over 25 years ago, but I still remember each time we would visit our uncle would hug us and he would always scratch us with his scruffy facial hair, which was always needle sharp. We screamed and tried to run away, but we would also be laughing and having tons of fun - he would do this each time we came by, fro hello and also when we left. I remember him very fondly. He would joke with us, call us names (for fun, you know how family is) play with us, encourage us to drink alcohol (did I mention I'm from eastern Europe?) and generally comment on what we were doing (we would usually watch cartoons or play with toys in another room, while the parents and the rest of the family would drink and chat at the table). The funny thing is... I know he had a wife, but for the life of me I can't rember her at all. I don't know if I ever talk to her, hug her, had any fond or bad memories - nothing. It was like we had no contact. The uncle - scruffy and scratchy and generally a lovable drunk he was, he gave us something we can smile at even decades later... his wife... it's like she was never there.... kids know.
