You don't have to demonize good looking men to feel better about yourself. There are a lot of nice good looking men and also loads and loads of assholes who's personalities are as poor as their looks. People on here aren't worshipping chads, they are just calling it as it is. Chads get more women fawning over them. Simple. And i bet a lot of people on here wish they were in that position or had the genes.

I figured that out a long time ago. I work full time, pay for my own place, buy my own food, know how to cook, do all my own cleaning, and am financing a motor vehicle that I purchased brand new (drove it off the lot with 10 miles on the odometer), but women won't get me a second look because they're so in love with this wonderful guy they found who is a violent alcoholic/drug addict who never worked a day in his life. I guess I'm not shitty enough?

Exactly!!! I'm glad you said this, because "Chad" and "alpha" keep getting confused recently. They aren't the same thing at all and it needed to be said. I hope enough people read this post to get our definitions back to ones that make sense.

A Chad is a certain type of physically/sexually attractive man, probably the most attractive for most women but there's some personal taste. He looks like the Chad guy in OP's second link - having thick bone structure, well-defined facial features, very high dimorphism etc etc. A very good-looking guy with an aggressive/dominant look because of his facial features (especially eyebrow ridge).

A Chad is like a "jock" I suppose. Often they may be extremely confident and alpha-like (with some very fundamental differences I'll come to later) because or their great looks, and because they're capable of beating most people up - so they're not afraid of anyone. Their looks give them great quantities of attention from women which fuels their ego and makes them hyper-confident.

But an alpha is intrinsically/internally confident and unreliant on others to give him his confidence. He's a leader - usually forged by the combination of the right experiences (hardship/struggle, having to solve problems on his own, having to lead others, having earned successes, learned/mastered many skills) and some natural traits (high intelligence across different types of thinking, not being a sheep/follower).

Alpha wasn't meant to refer to physical attributes, or to be a byword for attractive (although alphas are usually attractive to women (and even straight men in a non-sexual way) this is not what makes them alpha, it's a side-effect of being one). It was a man who leads rather than follows. In a pack of certain animals, the alpha leads the pack and the betas follow. The alpha gets the females because he's the alpha, because of his status - it doesn't matter what he looks like.

Humans are different and don't follow this ape social structure, ours is much more complex and therefore harder to explain with simple terms and dichotomies, but having evolved from those apes we retain some of the basics deep in our brains. Humans don't form packs, and alpha/beta is not a categorical thing but a continuous thing - a line rather than two boxes - for us, but it's still there.

The wolves, sheep dogs and sheep analogy is apt for humans. There is a mass of sheep that make up the bulk of the people (maybe around 80% at a wild guess, may be anywhere from 70 to 95 % IMO). They tend to follow others and don't want to lead. They don't even feel that comfortable leading themselves so they look for others to lead them. There are intelligent sheep, experienced sheep and skilled sheep, but they tend not to be wise - the type of intelligence best described as having a deeper, more intuitive understanding of the world and the things on it. Most Chads are sheep, albeit very attractive ones.

Wolves are the psychopaths/sociopaths and other predatory personalities. They're the "bad alphas" - they are highly intelligent leaders, but are amoral at best, evil at worst. They lead gullible sheep against their interests for their own enrichment and/or amusement. They're the rarest type, about 2% of the general population but higher in certain areas, may be 5% in big cities. Three places contain the highest concentrations of wolves - prisons, parliaments and boardrooms. They're "dark triad" alphas that many women love and some terpers try to emulate. "The Psychopath Test" is what I based this on and is a good read for entertainment and information surrounding these people.

Sheep dogs are "good alphas" and (fortunately) outnumber the wolves most of the time. They're not always easy to identify from the sheep (unlike the wolves who are usually pretty easy to spot). There are minor sheep dogs and "sleeping" sheep dogs. They might not know they're this themselves if they're "asleep" / haven't woken up yet. But in other cases it's clear right away from their body language, voice, how they communicate. These men are attractive to women in terms of their personality - the more alpha they are the more attractive. But the wolves are usually more attractive. The sheep dogs are 'good' people (the only truly good people of all three) who have their own morals. This alone may make some women go for wolves instead, the 'badness' of them providing another source of attraction in addition to the alphaness.

The sheep dog category contains the least women per man. There are very few female sheep dogs due to both their "betaness" and their amorality and oftentimes immorality. Women often have a "love of evil" or a certain elusive darkness about them. I won't go too deep into that but it's been known for so long that it's eluded to in some very basic old symbols/icons and stories.

The question "under what circumstances, if any, would you follow this man?" might give a good idea of how alpha someone is and what type.

There is an alpha/beta line for women as well, but alpha women are much rarer and more subtle than alpha men. Women were not made to lead, so this is understandable/logical.

Remeber they're all varying degrees - not exclusive categories. People can also change from one to the other over long enough time.

This is my take on it and I may be wrong, I'm still figuring things out. I keep revising what I think about this as I get more experience and information. I respect "good alphas" because they are worthy of it. Chad - depends on his personality, wolves - no.

My understanding of this is still in development and so criticism is more than welcome!

I have a friend who qualifies as a chad. He's one of the coolest kids I've ever met. I also used to be friends with a female bikini model and that was way too much maintenance, so I stopped talking to her after she got her 3rd boyfriend.
