Hello gentlemen. I felt compelled to write a little bit about how my life has been since discovering TRP and MGTOW about ~8 years ago and how it has helped me take control of my life.
It all started near the end of my Community College years. I attended a school that was in a well known beach community so needless to say, the women attending this school were absolutely beautiful. All toned, sun-kissed skin who were all very easy to talk to and party with. I unwillingly and unknowingly fell right in line with many of the other boys trying to get more involved with their lives in attempts to date that right girl and take the next step in my life. I was a cog in the machine. Texted them, facebook messaged them etc...
Then TRP came into my life, and boy was it a game changer. After doing all the suggested TRP things like lifting, being more alpha and what not, I began to discover my potential at a person and the freedom that comes with it. I deleted Facebook and all social media and did away with smart phones. Stuck with the bare minimum and the feeling was very liberating. Then I discovered MGTOW and liked what i found so i threw both TRP and MGTOW in a pot and blended the two together which landed me where i'm at today.
I am in my early 30's and a question i get more than any other is why are you so against marriage? Preface to this commonly asked question is that, i was fortunate enough to discover all this is my early 20's before i committed to the social norm. I've been blessed with good healthy genes, tall, fit, and have placed a premium on my education which led to a wonderfully rewarding career. My hybrid stew helped me become stoic by nature and tap into my natural born leadership qualities. I'm by far the most successful of all my childhood friends and family as well as many of those i'm introduced to. I'm truly blessed, but as the saying goes - "The Universe helps those who help themselves."
Don't mistake me for someone who is against women or dating but someone who is aware of my own self interests and how to benefit myself. Also, don't take me for being a selfish individual. I just won't place my hand on a stove when i know it will burn me.
Men never ask me this question but it usually comes from their wives or single women looking to settle down with me. One thing has never become more clear to me since this has happened. How much authority and power one holds when you can just walk away as well as having options, which greatly increases your leverage. I have wives doing more for me than they do for their own husbands. "A woman would rather be the mistress of a King than the world(wife) of a peasant."
Which now leads me to my main point, "why are you so against marriage?" Many men get angry and try to argue their point but when you argue against an emotional machine you will only find yourself getting full of emotion and anger. Instead, I turn it around and politely ask them to please explain to me how this would benefit me? It usually goes like this:
"You don't want to share your life with someone?" "Is that impossible to attain without marriage?"
"What about if you want kids?" "If I ever change my mind about having kids, would I be incapable of having them as an unmarried man?"
"What about experiencing that deep connection with someone?" "Again, is it physically impossible, let's say, for us to experience that without marriage?"
Then their frustration begins to show and I like to throw a bit of feminist dogma into their faces:
"You are a career woman who is very capable of providing for herself. Why do you need marriage to feel complete?" [scoffs at me] you just don't get it
I'd like to leave off with two things for you guys on this sub:
-
understand that no one cares about you or loves you. The only possible exception is perhaps your mother. Beyond this, you are only involved with other people because you bring some sort of value into their lives. Any short fall here and you will see how quickly people leave. So don't be afraid to be alone but learn to enjoy the silence and always improve upon yourself. Yes, take some time off to relax but don't make it a habit of doing nothing.
-
Try not to focus so much on these marriage horror stories. The community learns little to nothing from this. Ranting about how bad relationships are or how evil marriage is doesn't make your fellow man a better person. Yes, be aware of the potential pit falls of relationships, but don't make that the only thing we discuss. Instead we should be sharing stories of our accomplishments, travels, hobbies, and things we've created as free men.
Enjoy.
