Why do you think women initiate the vast majority of divorces? After the initial intensity of first starting a relationship/marriage fails, and you get comfortable, women feel unhappy.

For a lot of women (and despite the whole "feminism" schtick), the "emotional intensity" of marriage is largely focused around the "event" of getting married -- the whole "Princess* for A Day" thing is quite literally the primary thing they think of their entire life leading up to it -- and there is a cult-like fetish/obsession that has been built up (including vast array of industries -- product & service & media -- that feed into and profit from).

They're indoctrinated into it from early childhood on... virtually every Rom-Com ends up with the goal of the proposal/wedding bells (often left unseen as an "exercise for the viewer's imagination), not to mention the vast expanse of the Disney-Princess "universe" (including a whole shitload of "direct to video" stuff, both Disney and Disney-esque knockoffs); plus the majority of the Barbie^TM doll array, etc (and despite the rants of feminists, that stuff isn't focused on teaching girls to be wives or even "mothers", so much as it is driving them obsess over being "brides").

Just go look up "obsessed with weddings" and you'll see a vast array of articles -- including not a small number that discuss how problematic this is, and how the actual "marriage" (afterwards) gets short shrift -- but ALL of them will be about the fact that it is almost solely/excusively a female phenom, with only an occasional mention of men (and then usually to note how the "groom" is essentially an "accessory" to the whole thing, considered necessary {there has to be a "significant other" else the "wedding" would be revealed as what it is: a massively display of female self-absorbed, self-centered and absurdly extravagant fetish-like exhibitionism} but relatively unimportant).

BTW, this is why the whole "gay marriage" thing is going to end up being a fiasco for the wedding industry -- even the most effeminate of gay dudes is going to look absurd trying to copy the hetero "Princess Themed Wedding" thing; and the lesbian-marriage is problematic from the opposite perspective: "Princess for A Day" doesn't work so well when there are TWO "Princesses" trying to be in the spotlight (nor does one of them being a Dyke-In-A-Tux really resolve it, that's TOO "cis-gendered" for the LGBTQBBQ community) -- end result is that most of the "gay marriages" are going to be courtroom/wedding-chapel kind of things, and very likely the whole thing is going to backfire because of that (hetero women will soon begin getting angry when they see how absurd it {the "gay marriage"} makes their own "massive event"seem by contrast).

* AKA "Bridezilla"

But of course it isn't JUST the women who are obsessed with the wedding "event", even many women who are NOT so obsessed (and who are more than willing for a "less conspicuous" wedding day) are nonetheless often very much NOT focused on actually being married.

I have a young friend (well I suppose since he's past 30, he's not that young) who recently got married to one of these types -- the wedding itself was small, relatively modest (on a comparative scale), nonetheless I happened to glance through the bride's public facebook page the other day, and what she seemed to be focused on, was...

Moving into her* "new" home, the redecorating she's already done to the place, how she's planning on further redecorating, all new furniture for the bedroom, dining room, etc. (She's only ever had small apartments -- even in previous multi-year LTR's -- so she's in "nesting" and "territory marking" mode.)

The problem?

Well, it's not her home -- and technically speaking it's not really HIS home either. Oh, he's owned it for a half-dozen years -- but (ironically enough) he only "half-owns" it in combination with his former fiancee (the wedding never happened due to unforeseen events {i.e. he got locked up on an unrelated thing right before the "big day"}, but they still co-own the house, she -- the former fiancee -- put the downpayment down & lived in it for about 6 months, then took off for other "adventures" {unwilling to wait for him} -- so it sat empty for about a year, then he got out & moved in and HE has been making all of the mortgage & insurance & tax payments, etc; not only since he moved in but in fact ever since the purchase, even while he was locked up}).

Needless to say that whole situation is a "fustercluck" that is just waiting to blow up in some major fashion. *Note: New bride has "zilch" as far as assets, an relatively spotty work history, and presently/recently has only held low-wage part time jobs (which she was wanting to quit even before he proposed, and so probably will quit soon now that the deal is "sealed") and so isn't going to be able to "buy out" the former fiancee for her new hubby, and hubby's finances -- vastly reduced post-lockup -- have been heavily burdened just trying to pay the bills and maintain a house that was originally bought on the assumption of a two relatively HIGH income earners.

So right now the new "bride" is experiencing the "emotional high" of having her own house -- but given the financial situation, a lot of her grandiose plans are likely to be foiled (or at least reduced & tightly constrained) -- so the "thrill" of that is likely to come to an end sooner rather than later.

Not exactly a "recipe for success" in my opinion. (Plus there are other factors, both in her past, as well as the past & family of the new "groom" {all of his several siblings are multiple marriage/divorce situations, etc} -- that sort of add in to the equation that the situation is highly unlikely to be a "haaappy" one much past the proverbial honeymoon phase; they might make the 3 year mark, but I highly doubt it will last much beyond that, I figure it's probably a "seven year itch" divorce scenario -- possibly less when the inevitable "cat fight" of the former fiancee coming back and wanting HER money back out of the house happens.)

They're told they shouldn't be money grubbing whores who marry for the sake of having an easy life. Then on the other hand they're told they should look for other qualities in men other than the physical and economic traits of that individual. It goes against the very nature and historical context of marriage in and of itself.

This is why feminism is failing. It's a mindfuck where no matter what the issue is everyone is bound by both answers. They're both right and they're both wrong. Because it's frowned upon for a women to say she wants a warrior who is wealthy, she has to pretend like she wants all these other traits which lead to BORING relationships in the end for them.

So they are being honest, yet deceiving at the same time even if they don't realize it. Fighting nature with nurture leads to devastating consequences.

Why are women universally incapable of knowing what they are aroused by in a man?

Arousal ('gina tingles) is one thing... steady & ready access to resources is another.

This woman wants to "cheat" on her hubby because she was never actually "attracted" to him to begin with -- or rather she was "attracted" to him, but only for his potential to be a "mechanism" that could provide resources: a proverbial "stallion" to ride into her "Princess for A Day" wedding festival, and then a "plow horse" to pay for various necessities and desires (home, furniture, food, clothes, shoes, probably payoff a backlog of credit card debt, etc).

Nearly all women just have no fucking idea what they want.

Except they DO know -- they want to have their "cake" and yet eat it too -- they want the boring "beta bux" man to provide for their needs... yet they have also been programmed (by an incessant inundation of media -- movies, music, etc) to want to be rebellious and go out and "have fun" with the "bad boy" so called "Alpha" (Alfalfa? Ralpha?) who will in no small part make her 'gina tingle by the very fact that he's likely to treat her like a 'bitch in heat'.

They tend to KNOW that... they just don't want to ADMIT what it reveals about themselves: that they are an essentially manipulative & parasitic life form that also wants (in fact inherently, biologically needs) to be treated in a dominant fashion, and to take a generally submissive & subordinate position.

Feminism of course adds to that confusion.

Can't these confused women just mentally list the differences between their marriage partner and the man they are cheating with? How fucking hard is that? Make a goddamn list! Lists are easy! How stupid do you have to be?

You're thinking "logically" rather than "emotionally": women sometimes DO make such "lists" -- after all, the woman in the article did -- the problem is that they give different emotional "weight" to the various things they place onto each side of the proverbial scale, and of course they also then tend to plop their fat thumb onto it as well; not to mention that they (and men do this too) often discard/dismiss/override their rational thought and like an "animal in heat" allow their impulsive hormonal drives/urges to take control.
