So, my ex dropped round to see me today to get something she had "forgotten". We broke up a few months ago after she told me that she wanted a baby and I had better do something about it. Also she had an idea but couldn't prove I had cheated and wanted to seal the deal to protect her investment, hence all I heard about was when are we getting married. I'm very much into learning and personal development and she was getting to be a constant drag on getting anything done with her moods and constant need for entertainment. I a) dont' want kids b) don't want to get married c) have ambitions for life so I called a halt to the whole thing. She's been all kinds of crazy since we broke up. She told me a while back that she'd gone on a date with a guy but wouldn't be going again because he didn't pay for her. Today she told me that she'd gone to watch a movie with a guy. I asked if he had treated her. She replied that no he was just a friend and that she'd paid for herself. It was not like they're dating. Then she would expect it. I was just like, how did I never see this? I still get texts with offers of sex. Then I really saw her for what she was.

She's been giving it the big one since we broke up about how she's heartbroken etc, but honestly I think she's just upset because she missed out on a meal ticket to a comfortable life. I have a decent job and worked very hard to get where I am whereas she is around minimum wage and has no ambition. The first thing she did when we broke up was to go try get a mortgage on her own. She'd had it comfortable living rent-free with me, but just took that for granted. Then when the bank told her, she'd get f**k all, she was back onto me, looking to hook up again and offering to suck my d**k.

I've been reading a lot of the stuff on here and the recommended reading such as The Manipulated Man and I could see all these behaviours in her today. I'd always thought she was a unicorn and was a cool girl. But now I just see through all that bullshit. Once your eyes have been opened they cannot be closed.

I'm so glad I didn't make that mistake. I was so close to doing it, not because it was what I wanted, but because it was what I felt I should do. I've been MGTOW for as long as I can remember. Since back in my teens I've known that I didn't want kids or marriage. I just never had a name for it or knew it was a thing. I spent my whole twenties and half my thirties on personal development and did not feel the need for female validation. Thanks everyone who posts here because you've made me feel happier about my life to know that I'm not the only one and that I'm not a "freak".
