I'm just in the process of finalizing a divorce from the woman who I thought was the love of my life. Almost all of these statements are dead on to what our relationship had become and you put into words what I could never express. I'm going to share this with my parents and family. Thanks. It's basically a long explanation of why MGTOW exists. Most concerning for me is a number of the responses. A divorcee suggests that he might meet a special someone - NAWALT. A few men and women chip in with their own version of NAWALT, by suggesting that you don't marry bitches, or that they don't fit the stereotype of the nagging wife (usually only because they haven't reached critical mass yet, literally in some cases, or possibly because they're deluded about themselves). Ultimately, it's about risk to reward. My primary reason for avoiding serious relationships is because I have never seen a happy one outside of the first year or so. After that, the man starts making compromise after compromise, culminating in an absolute surrender of his freedoms, usually to somebody who is scarcely more mature than a teenager. You wouldn't surrender your financial future to an immature brat if they were a stranger, or even a friend, so why do it for "luv".

I don't really see the benefit for me in marriage. I see a lot of perks for the woman, but not many for the man. Not many risks for women, but a ton for men, the biggest being the woman's own fickle nature. Marriage is supposed to be until death do us part, not until she finds a better deal with someone else.

It boggles my mind how a person can have four kids with someone, then decide she "needs more", and I somehow am responsible for providing a bridge to that new life. My cousin pays 2k a month in child support for his 4 kids. I'll be damned if I let that happen to me.

Since I'm not keen on having kids (or raising another man's), this leaves me with only the benefit of not dying alone. Whoopee. After a lifetime of bondage in the service of some cunt to provide her with the lavish material possessions she both craves and demands, I can look forward to having her crowd the side of my deathbed, nagging me to the very edge of oblivion. I'd sooner crawl under the porch to die like an old dog.
