I think a lot of criticism of AWALT stems from a basic misunderstanding (sometimes deliberate) of what it actually means. It doesn't mean that every single woman on the planet is exactly the same. Instead, AWALT is a statistical generalization based on the observed behavior of women in aggregate. Women as a group tend more towards hypergamy, AFBB, and other dynamics, than men do. You can find evidence of this from dating site statistics, marriage statistics, and a lot of other places. Since the distribution of these traits is normal, you'll find women who display a very low degree of hypergamy (although even this is probably more than men), and some who display a very high degree of hypergamy, with most women somewhere in the middle. The standard MGTOW argument has always been that it's foolish to dismiss a valid generalization based on anecdotal examples. It's theoretically possible to find unicorns if you look at the very leftward end of the distribution, but (a) the vast majority of women are not unicorns, so you're searching for a needle in a haystack, and (b) it's difficult to distinguish a unicorn from a woman who's merely acting to get something from you: many, many men have gotten burned by what they thought was a unicorn.

AWALT = The Gun Rule "Assume all Guns are Loaded".

AWALT,like all Guns are Loaded,doesn't assume every woman is literally the same/every gun is literally loaded at all times.

It just means to always follow SAFETY RULES aka BE CAREFUL. That's all.

Of course,for MGTOWs,we'd rather not "handle the gun" and would rather do something else...so this fits more into TRP.

Depends: with cluster analysis you can define 2 or 3 patterns for the majority + outlier cluster and still generalize safely covering 99.99% of cases that matter.

No. It's real observation and sadly, real damage not predicted damage. The real hurt is financial, not emotional. By all means if women had no ability to do legal/financial harm to me I'd be happy to keep trying the dating thing, despite it being unlikely to work, because it's the cumulative/maximum damage that stops me.

Emotions aren't damage. It's real loss of freedom, injury or loss of money/property that are my concern.

We have no choice but to make claims without evidence: the evidence one could demand requires an intrusive recording by video of every interaction all day every day with relationships, women at jobs, etc., and no one has the legal/material resources to do that. It's not legal most places and it is cumbersome.

The way I see AWALT is this:

Not every woman may be a hypergamous gold digger/whore, or whatever you wanna describe them as. Many of them are.

However because it is in woman's nature, all women have the capacity to be AWALT. They just need the right externals, such as being in a city, slut friends, social media, etc. I believe there ARE women out there worthy of having a family with, BUT they could easily be influenced and become AWALT. Especially since misery loves company.

I could get some shit for saying it, but I'd say it's at least probable that the assertion 'NAWALT' is empirically true. However, I don't have data to verify this other than being able to assert that I think there are certainly lots of great women out there who aren't by any means 'our enemy'. For purely personal reasons due to the characteristics of my personality, I'm not interested in romance, so I could care less about those implications, not that this subject matter doesn't fascinate me.

Now a lot of people here will probably say that 'AWALT is true because it's a spectrum where the tendencies of human nature are more or less apparent vary' and that may very well be true. I'm somewhat intuitively inclined to think so, but I will not claim it is so without hard facts, and frankly it is very hard to quantify the complexities of human personalities. What we've done here is built a perception based on our personal experiences cross-referenced with those of other men and drawn conclusions based on that. But it would not be honest to say that this is an empirically-grounded viewpoint. Due to the mathematics of probability and what empirical logic suggests, I'm not going to argue 'AWALT on a spectrum' because I don't have an avenue to potentially falsify such a statement. Anything I think or say to be truth, by my standards, should be falsifiable, so while I in general agree with the sentiments of most people on this sub, I want to be very specific by saying my views are an opinion, not an indisputable fact.

This is something I think about frequently and I really wish I could study the things TRP-types talk about empirically (in the best of scientific fashion) because intuitive reasoning is a risky business in my view. Doesn't seem like the means to do so is available to me at this point in time though. I very much want to be intellectually honest, so as that I will not be my own fool.

Simply put, experience.

When you realise, in a cold and clear manner, that women offer nothing of value, destroy other humans, are innately untrustworthy and are selfish in the extreme, it is a very easy step to assume AWALT.

Are there enough outliers to justify looking for them? That's really th he question. And you never know till it's too late. Confounding issues, to be sure.
