We can still try. It sucks to see members of either community try to interact with the other, because the visitor is usually downvoted and attacked. I'm just trying to open a space for those who want to have discussions.

It's guaranteed to fail. They won't and can't take any position that is falsifiable, and they no interest in changing the minds of or actually discussing the tenets. They behave this way for the jollies because the implications are dangerous to their ego and worldview, which they aren't willing to question. Hell, when we talk about the important of marriage length, they jump that we're advocating a woman should stay in an abusive relationships.
It's a fool's errand, and the reddit format is the absolute worst possible one to try with. It's designed to monetize reductio ad absurdum.

It did seem a little silly to me too, but it seemed like a good way to indicate that this sub would be a meeting point halfway between red and blue pill philosophies.

Fantastic theoretical idea for a sub-reddit. I root for it to do really well. I fear it won't turn out that way. I'll participate in good faith until given a preponderance of evidence not to, though.

I'm going to do my best to keep it as high quality as possible, and /u/PurplePillDebate, genuinely wants it to be neutral ground. I'm glad /u/RedPillSchool posted about it here, I hope it generates more interest in the sub.
I think a lot of the Bluepillers only see what is posted in /r/thebluepill which is a lot of cherrypicked comments taken out of context. Hopefully having discourse with each other will generate at least some understanding of where TRP is coming from.
If you want to root for us, then the best way to start is by contributing! I wasn't able to post in TRP because my account is too new and my invitation post was deleted, so most of the contributions so far have been blue pill. The best way to create a positive community is to interact.

I actually know the creator of the sub. It is in no way the same person who wrote what you linked. I can promise you that they aren't the same. It's just a weird coincidence that another person seemed to have a similar idea.
Hi, sub creator here! I don't know who this other purple pill is--hadn't even heard of them until I saw your comment. This debate sub is for just that: debate. No mocking, no "pickup zen teachings." But mostly no mocking.

I'm excited to learn about this! Intelligent debate is one of the strongest tools at our disposal to define and flesh out our understanding of any given issue, I really hope /r/PurplePillDebate can help accomplish that.
