Of course it's possible to go your own way without ever being in a relationship. There are all kinds of things you haven't tried because people have told you they're bad for your well-being, or logic dictates that they must be so. At the end of the day, what we offer young men like you is information, to help you make a more informed decision. On the one hand, it's up to you what to do with it. On the other, when a hundred people jump from the top of a twenty-story building and all die, it's not hard to conclude that you probably shouldn't jump from the top of a twenty-story building.

The benefit of being young is that you can usually recover from mistakes. I don't think any guy here wants you to go through what some of us have gone through, but we'd also be disingenuous if we didn't believe that your experiences with women -- armed with the knowledge you have -- will logically lead you to the same place. So put yourself out there if you want. Learn what it's like to feel "in love." Experience what it's like for women to constantly be trying to get their way at the expense of your finances and sanity. And if you screw the hell up and get married, we'll be here when it all crashes down to tell you, "We told you so, dumbass," and then welcome you anyway. Most of us at least; I tend to be unsympathetic to people who already know better.

A couple of rules to keep in mind:

Don't ever pursue relationships because other people will think better of your for being in one. They have their interests in mind, not yours. Pursue relationships for the day-to-day benefits they bring to your life (dude, if an attractive girl is going to have sex with you multiple times a day, there ain't nothing wrong with wanting to experience that), but always be mindful of the costs. When the costs exceed the benefits, as they always will eventually, get the fuck out.

Don't ever put women on a pedestal. Vaginas don't have magic powers, and there's not a vagina out there that only your dick can unlock. Women are at least as innately flawed and vile as men (most here would say worse). They are not deserving of worship or sacrifice because they have a vagina.

I'm as young as you are and I have had only two short casual relationships. Honestly even at my young age I just simply can't be bothered to chase any pussy.

If you have this mindset and you know about MGTOW, there's no way back to plantation.

I was unaware of MRM or MGTOW before but knew something was wrong with how things are in society. Pretty much held to the belief that "not all women are like that". What really shook me was how men were portrayed in media as the bumbling idiot. Every commercial and the vast majority of tv shows and movies. The more I thought about it the more it bothered me.

But yeah it was a relationship that pushed me the rest of the way. Not even going into what happened, what really stuck with me is how I had little to no support in the aftermath. People were uncomfortable talking to me. Wouldn't listen. Basically as a whole the entire world had a "Fuck you, deal with it" attitude. I genuinely needed help and it wasn't there. There's no wonder men kill themselves far more often than women especially if they're conditioned to not even want to seek aid.

As for it being better or not I can't answer that. On the one hand it would be great if you were to find one of those well adjusted chicks and never have any of these problems. Go on to changing your opinion of MRM, as long as someone doesn't wish me ill will I'm not going to wish they didn't find happiness. But on the other I wish to God I didn't ever meet my ex.

If getting your cock off and sexual intimacy means that much to you, get it out of your system, try it and see if it's worth it to you. You will need to jump through a lot of hoops and possibly lose your self respect doing so. Don't use MGTOW as an excuse though, if that's what you want don't repress it in this ideologies name. Just my two cents.

I've always kind of been MGTOW; I wouldn't attribute it to failed relationships primarily because I always avoided relationships due to my MGTOW leanings.

It still stands out in my mind, how hostile women would become on the few rare occasions I'd mention that I won't play the game. First happened in Jr High, but it repeated several times well into adulthood. Even today, if I were the explain to someone why I'm single, I'm sure they'd get angry with me.

But whatever; I wish them well. I found what works for me, and I hope the same for others.

MGTOW does not mean not having sex or not having a relationship with a woman, but it is a side effect for most mgtow. Plenty of mgtow here who still have sex or a relationship with women, just not the "regular" relationships society has in mind (I myself have a relationship with a girl for more than 6 months now, we have met for 5 weekends so far for sex and other fun stuff).

I think the sidebar has to be edited, this is the most common misinterpretation of mgtow.

Early twenties here. One long term relationship was all it took for me to take the deep dive into the red pill river. However everyone is different. Date sparingly and get it in uf you can, but use that as a learning experience to fuel you bachelor beliefs. Don't take relationships too seriously at your age. They are society's distractions amongst other things that designed to keep you desperate and unhappy. Don't rely on others to keep you happy.

One red pill truth thst applies regardless if you have ever been in a relationship is that no one can make happy. You can rely on someone to keep your house clean, your dinner cooked, your balls drained, your back clothed, etc but not keep you happy. Anyone woman or mangina that claims that that shit can be achieved in relationships via flowery oneitis romance garbage is either absurdly lucky or has mentally castrated himself.

I have had relationships with women but I have never been married or even cohabitated with a woman before. If you really want to experience sex and relationships now is the time for you to do it. You're young enough where you could find a girl your age who would be willing to fuck around and the cost not be as damaging as you may think. Theres also less single mothers, and not many 19 year old women have baby rabies. Not many 19 years olds are into that social justice bullshit either, at that age most normal people just want to enjoy life.

Thing is, you don't have much time so I'd personally tell you not to bother unless you want casual sex because theres a good chance that your woman will change with age, and it will not be for the better...Once you reach my age (I'm 28) thats when you start having problems. The amount of reformed party girls, angry feminists, women who claim they're asexual, single mothers, bitter divorcees, self-proclaimed "rape" victims, and crazies with baby rabies go up exponentially and it only gets worse as you get older. Knowing that whoever you meet now will most likely turn into one of the above, should make you question if you really think its worth it or not, but thats for you to decide.

Basically, the tl;dr version is, women age like milk so don't get your hopes up.

You could always go try it, but I guarantee there's a 90% chance at least that you'd be back here within 4 years.

I'm 19 too, have only had one relationship that lasted 2 years and went bad. But my experience with women in general, including my mother and girls in my schools, at uni etc, made me think MGTOW-like when I was small and hadn't even heard of MGTOW.

Whilst the media, maybe your friends and family, maybe your religion, will tell you that we're wrong, the majority of your life experience will probably confirm that the stuff said here about women is right. At worst, it's a little exaggerated, but not wrong at all.

I'm 21 about to be 22 and I have never been in a relationship. I was sort of naturally MGTOW because I saw the relationships around me and saw how dysfunctional they can be. It took me a while to get rid of the shame/sadness that came with realizing if I went MGTOW I would never experience the good side of relationships, but after dwelling on that for a bit I realized it is nothing to stress about. It doesn't determine your worth as a man, you aren't missing out on much, and that fantasy of relationships that you have does not square up with reality. I knew these things, but I needed to accept these realities. Once I did that, I was happy again and all of those relationship urges went away.

MGTOW isn't a "teaching" situation, it's a "warning" situation. We're not all handing down life wisdom (some are), some are just saying "wow, that's a trap. Look the fuck out" and then you look out.

I am in my 40s and have had relationships, I don't think I could have come to the realisations and understanding I now have, without having had the experiences I've had in my life. I am a totally different person to who I was at 19. I don't think I could have just been 'taught' these lessons, it just wouldn't be the same. I'm not sure what to advise you, but I don't think you probably really want to go through life without ever knowing what it's like to be with a woman.

I'm not really MGTOW because of past relationships, but that's because after my first one I learnt about this and was able to tie some teachings to what happened and decided that I would continue having relationships but now I'll be better at knowing what's going on. I do it for kisses and sex, mainly. If you're careful about who you pick there's no real danger in hooking up with girls. Just don't stick your dick in crazy. There are lots of well-adjusted girls at your age who just want to have a bit of fun but not be total sluts, so hook up with them and have a bit of fun.

I've had one serious relationship that led to a bad breakup. I don't regret the relationship at all. I kind of feel like it was one of those experiences that is good to have at least once in life. However, keep in mind that the breakup was nothing compared to what some people go through; I never got married and thus did not have a bad divorce. If the breakup had been much worse, it's possible that I would have rather never been in a relationship.

Even though people here don't seem to be very optimistic about romantic relationships, there have probably been many couples in history who feel that they had a long, successful, happy marriage. So, I don't think I would say it's impossible. However, if you do choose to date, or even marry, I would just say that it doesn't hurt to consider what you read here, and at least BE CAREFUL. Be aware of any risks, and try not to get so wrapped up in a relationship that you don't look out for yourself. That would be my advice.
