Notice the subtle, almost passive-aggressive shaming - "He wasn't able to give me a real ring yet, but what matters is what's on the inside". Translation - "The cheap fucker knocked me up so we're 'doing the right thing'. She's going to lord this over his head forever, even when/if he does pony up for a "real" ring.
