Schumer used to be a decent comedian (she's now being eclipsed by women like Ali Wong, who are ACTUALLY funny), she's had some TV success, a few meh films.

Chris Rock came from nothing and has done numerous successful standup specials on HBO. He had a great talk show on HBO at one point, a successful sitcom under his belt (the long-running Everyone Hates Chris), and recently even had a much-buzzed about movie. The man has established himself as an insightful and incisive comedian after years of working on his craft.

I first saw Chappelle when he was a kid, on Star Search. Numerous classic standup routines, and a sketch comedy show that became a cultural phenomenon. These days Chappelle can sell out a show within MINUTES.

There is no reason Schumer should get anywhere near the kind of money for her SHITTY comedy special that men like Rock and Chappelle earn. No fucking way.

honestly I think this hurts women more than it helps them

she's just. not. funny. not at all, and i don't think anyone ever decided to sign up to Netflix just to see her fat ass tell really bad jokes

that said, Netflix is going to expect a much higher bar the next time they sign up a woman, and frankly I don't see any female comedians ever meeting it
