Every time I visit my hometown it never fails. Somebody will ask about my ex. We broke up 1.5 years ago. No one in my family has seen her for over 1.5 years.

She was smoking hot. The very first thing anyone ever says when they mention her is how hot she is or how pretty she is. It pisses me the fuck off, like do they seriously not realize how insensitive that is?

Went to my hometown for thanksgiving. My own grandfather, two of my aunts and two of my cousins all asked about her. Another one of my aunts made a comment about her. Like bro it’s been over 1.5 years what the fuck?

I don’t say anything besides “we’re not seeing each other anymore.”

It fucking sucks. My identity and validation all stemmed from being the guy with the hot as fuck girlfriend. I’ll feel fine and not think of her but god damn it, it’s like everyday someone brought her up to me and asked about her like what the fuck man. It just ruined my mood and I fell into a depressive slump for a couple days.

It fucks with my head because I don’t think I’ll ever get a girl as hot as her. When we first got together she was very awkward and dorky. While we were together she got way hotter. She grew up a big girl that no guy wanted because she was bigger than everybody, 5’9 since age 13. She never dressed “sexy” always boyish. When she and I got together I encouraged her to go out of her comfort zone and her confidence really grew. So now she’s smoking fucking hot, dresses like it and has the confidence to back it up.

The dating world is fucked. I’ve been flaked on a lot recently. Covid has fucked dating up, in my city everyone has to wear masks. Going out is difficult. My confidence is shot. Also no social circle so I’m pretty much a loner relying on OLD.

The previous time I went to my hometown everyone brought her up and I thought ok that won’t happen again. Then I go again and everyone still brings her up. Like bro? Wtf? It ruins my mood, it’s just a reminder of how bad I’m doing in the dating world. I’ve had plates and FWB since breaking up with her but none have come close to how attractive she is.
