How does attractiveness of the opposite sex differ in men and women?

Men are more easily sexually aroused by visuals. People mistake this as men caring more about looks but I think the answer is that they both care equally about looks (women possibly even more so due to smaller potential arousal window) when selecting a partner. Women are still demanding a certain level of attractiveness even if they aren't directly aroused in the same way.

women care about personality more

Women care about EVERYTHING more. They care about looks like men, but are more discriminating. They care about personality but you need to meet a minimum looks prerequisite (which is already high) first. Then there's your position, rank within your group, your status. Then there's your resources, money.

Women care about looks too when it comes to physical attraction. They just care about looks plus other things. For most men all a woman has to have just one physically attractive feature and he could be sexually attracted to her. He starts caring about the other things that women normally care about in men when he gets serious and wants to settle down into a relationship.

It's not a dichotomy. The "men like looks, women like other stuff" is a myth. Women's attraction to men is initially about physical attraction as men's attraction to women. Why is she swiping left on all those guys on Tinder? Because there is no chemistry? It's the same reason the men are swiping left "Wouldn't bang.... Wouldn't bang.... Wouldn't bang.... Yes.

This is not an opinion, it has been scientifically proven again and again that men have a much greater dependency on visual stimulation, while women do not nearly as much.

This sub is going round in circles. Women are just as if not more visual. Their cut off point is at 8/10, men's is at 5or 6 out of 10.
