This has been similar to my strategy when a woman claims she’s “interested” (translation: wants a bail out before the wall hits). I just lie that life is pretty tough for me. I’d say they dry up but they were never wet; they just wanted a safety net.

I always am honest with how shitty/difficult things are sometimes...usually in how unpredictable my work can be...to any girl around. It's a built in defense against any of them viewing me as a safe option.
