So, a little update of my post only 5 days ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/FemaleDatingStrategy/comments/gym9xe/guy_who_claimed_he_was_into_me_has_been_acting/
Yeah, so, he posted something on instagram a few days ago. The girl he was commenting thirsty stuff to commented on his post and he sent back a kissy emoji and some other flirtations. Obviously he knew I follow him so he did this without a care of my feelings. When I confronted him (after he hadn't reached out in 3 days) he said yeah they've been talking a few weeks and I shouldn't be angry because we were never official and he didn't know how to tell me without me hating him and being angry.
I feel dumb as hell. Mainly because I know I probably stroked his ego even further by confronting him and being angry, also because I held these unrealistic expectations and ideas of him. He's a LVM. It's so obvious now that the rose-colored glasses have been shattered. He talked down to me, made misogynistic remarks, he's honestly a bum and probably a porn-addict.
Ladies, if you feel something is off about the guy you're seeing... TRUST THAT INTUITION! Gut feelings don't lie.
This sub has helped me tremendously become more confident and know my worth in relationships and dating. Just some of the helpful tips I've been beginning to implement from browsing here:
-NEVER start making up high expectation fantasizes and ideologies about a man you barely know. This almost 99% of the time leads to disappointment and you have no one to blame but yourself.
-Don't let a man know how into him you are early on in the "talking" and dating phase. Sure, you want to keep him interested and compliment him here and there when he deserves it. But, don't blow his phone up all day every day about how hot he is, how great of a guy he is, how sexy he is, etc.. when you barely know him. This just leads to inflating his ego so he thinks he can pull any hot chick.
-Out of sight, out of mind. Unfollow, unadd, mute him on everything and don't look back. Once a man has hurt you, you should see your place with him and no longer have to go through further pain of seeing him profile bubble pop up when he's online or those false hopes and butterflies you get when he watches your instagram story. If he really gave a shit about you he'd be contacting you. "Views" don't mean anything.
-DO NOT compare yourself to his new woman. Do not lurk her page, his page, etc. When we are physically hurt with an injury we do anything to care for it and are gentle with the wound, so why wouldn't we do the same with an emotional wound? Comparison just drives the knife deeper into your emotional pain.
-Do whatever you can to take your mind off of him. Remember at the end of the day that you were beautiful before he told you, and you're still beautiful after he has left. You don't need a man to tell you your worth and make you feel validated. Do things for yourself that prove you validate yourself. Learn a new hobby, stick to set goals you want to implement and follow through on them. Focus on yourself and your well-being. Impress yourself first.
-Take all his compliments with a grain of salt. Sure, it's wonderful to hear someone you find attractive telling you how amazing and sexy you are, but especially if you haven't had sex yet, he may be just trying to butter you up. Not saying that's the case for every man who compliments a woman, but just look at the types of compliments he gives you. This LVM I was nearly obsessing over only gave compliments about my body, my "sexiness", butt, boobs, how "bad" i looked (the good way)etc. I really don't think he ever once told me I looked pretty or simply beautiful.
The list is always expanding. Just be sure you're protecting your heart when you find a man you be be interested in. Always protect your heart and don't fall for a man you barely know. If there are red flags while dating, please get out of there. Unless you're able to communicate and he 100% changes, most of the times this little red flags will turn into more emotional pain down the road.

I swear I have such an overactive imagination but instead of fawning over someone I barely know at all with made-up scenarios I've started to aim that imaginative energy towards projects, crafts, diy, baking, etc.! It really helps get your mind focused on what's actually in front of you and not get too in your head.
