I saw a post about how teen me took pride in being low maintenance. I also thought because I asked for less my parents would be more accepting when I did ask. They still resented every thing I asked for. Anyways, my dad was telling me guys love doing things for the women they are with and that all males live to please any female they care about ( family too )

So, I said, so if I asked( I downplayed wanting to go to college so he never saves for me) for this that means you would have started working for it?

Anyways, I know he is toxic. How much truth is there to the power of asking non toxic men you trust for value and resources??
