Yeah I agree. This is one of my biggest gripes with liberal feminism. If everything is empowering then nothing is empowering. And they refuse to examine how capitalism forces women to make “choices” that suspiciously always benefit men.

In ancient times women were sold as property. They still are in third world/Muslim countries. Why did men go through all that (exchanging of cattle, land, negotiations with parents, courting) to get a woman as property? For sex. We were sold off like breeding cattle. Showing off your body online doesn’t help this stigma and sexism to go away. It only makes it worse. Because now instead of having to go through a whole courting process and etc, men think they can have your body after the first date. Or even before a first date. They think we are easy access. Sure we can get a job and have some basic rights, but now we are more exposed than ever. And yes it’s good in a lot of ways that we aren’t property anymore. But in terms of sexualization nothing has changed. Now women are actually sexualizing themselves and making things worse. Men are now saying “if women didn’t want to be sexualized, they wouldn’t put themselves out there. They wouldn’t wear short shorts.” Is this what we really want for ourselves? It’s so damaging. Yes what you wear shouldn’t define you. But what you do certainly doesn’t help. Putting a porno or only fans account out there doesn’t make men respect you or any other girls. If you don’t care about yourself, atleast have respect for your fellow ladies. And try to learn to love yourself. Bc I promise putting pornos out there to be treated like a piece of meat isn’t loving yourself.

I agree with you on the kink stuff - but being taught that sexuality was a spectrum in health class saved me a lot of heartache and fear when I realized I wasn’t straight.
