Hi all! I am glad to have found this awesome group. I hope posts about HVM husbands are ok.
I want to quickly introduce myself since this is my first post. I was a “The Rules” girl almost from the beginning. I was in high school when I saw the authors interviewed on a national morning program. My mom drove me to Barnes & Noble that same night — she was excited too. (I had recently gotten in trouble with her for calling boys).
Well, I guess it worked. A few years later, at age 22, I married my HVM. We have been happily married for 17 years.
Ok, enough intro, onto the HVM behavior.
Last night, I mentioned to my husband that I had a dr appointment at 8 am the next day, but it was no big deal because I found a sitter for our kids (2m, 4m).
This morning I heard him leaving for work around 6:15, and then heard the garage door unexpectedly open again about 20 minutes later. My husband sent me a text saying it was him, not to be alarmed. I rolled over and went back to sleep.
When I came downstairs, I saw he had left cash for the babysitter, along with fresh milk, bananas, and bread on the counter (well, the milk was in the fridge). He also unloaded the dishwasher. I never asked him to do any of these things.
This is how he normally acts. In no way was this an anomaly. I have about a million other quotidien examples, but also some that have really stuck with me throughout the years. I will share more down the line if anyone is interested. I know I always get a little motivation from success stories.
