This was me when I went through a rough patch last year. Kept looking at depressing quotes, reading Thought Catalog articles, and trying to search him and the girl up online just to see how they are doing and if he was better off without me. After awhile, I got pretty sick of this vicious cycle I put myself through. Whenever I feel like doing those things, I'd reach out to my friend, think about why I'm feeling this way and write my thoughts down in a journal, or just go for a workout session. Let's start the new year on a right note!

Oh I STRUGGLED with this.

A thing that helped me was, to link a action to the impulse. So every time I would get the urge to creep, I would switch my hair band and from wrist to the other, and change my thought.

I developed a light switch coping mechanism early on from trauma in my childhood and I’m oddly grateful for that. Once something is done or someone crosses the line, I flip that switch and it’s like they never existed. Block, delete, forget. Sounds hard but, fake it till you make it and you’ll build the callouses and stop self-harming like this.
