I give them 24 hours, 48 hours if I think I'll actually like them. If anything I feel that's way too generous. If they wanted to go out with you they should ask immediately. Talking through text isn't a good indicator it will be a good match, though it does help weed out the fuckboys somewhat, if they're talking about going back to their/your place, or insisting on drinks early on, etc

My strategy is for the bold. In the first few messages I’d let the guy know I don’t prefer texting, I prefer calls. I’d stop responding around the 5th or 6th text.

Men who don’t call don’t get a date. 🤷‍♀️

The problem is that every man wants to meet and every man wants to exchange numbers. I don’t have the energy to meet and text everyone. I tell them that I only give out my number to people with whom a mutual interest has developed by ways of getting to know each other by chatting on the dating site.

These men just ask to meet before we’ve even engaged in any type of conversation— it’s superficial and shallow. Anyone who asks to meet or have my number in the very beginning, before exchanging messages beyond simple formalities (good morning, how are you) signals a yellow flag for me. It shows they don’t care who they meet, they are just looking to meet anyone.

Generally, I like to have a basic get to know you conversation for 1-3 days; then a phone call; then we’ll meet if I feel an interest in the person.
