I honestly didn't know how to phrase the title because this question was born out of my lurking on r/relationships and r/relationship_advice where a lot of the advice about sex is either

  1. saying it's okay to break up with someone over sexual compatibility
  2. it's fine if sex is important to a person in a relationship

Or generally things of that nature. Any advice on those two subs involving sex will say one or two of those things. Specifically, I saw a post of a man saying if he weren't having consistent sex with his wife like they used to, he would've never felt strongly about her and it made me so sad that our society has conditioned people to think sex ought to dictate romantic relationships in a way it's more important than their character. I'm curious about a radfem's perspective on this topic as I'm not sure if sexual compatibility in a relationship is ever discussed (from as far as I've been digging).

My viewpoint is that sex is probably the last thing on my radar in determining a partner as it's more about the person they are than their ability to have sex. Like, I have sex frequently, but if I could never have sex again with my partner I wouldn't say that's a dealbreaker for me because I like them as a person, not simply for sexual purposes. I definitely couldn't date anyone who didn't think like this too. Also, sorry if I picked the wrong flair!
