I just found this sub so I’m not sure if this is the right place, or the right flair, but I wanted to share and get some input.

So I dated this guy for not very long, only like 2 months. About 3 weeks into the relationship he decided to say I love you. I said it back, and I truly felt like I loved him. I really did like him. But as the relationship progressed I realized that I don’t think it was love, but maybe just infatuation?

I sort of have relationship issues where out of the blue I’ll stop liking someone, and it happened. I’ve had this problem for years across multiple relationships and I’ve discussed it with my therapist and they said instead of running, to wait and invite the feelings of love back in. But my feelings didn’t come back so I knew I needed to communicate better with him.

So one day I told him hey I need a little space, and the conversation ended with “I care about you, but I don’t know if it’s love.” He broke up with me pretty much in the spot, not letting me explain my feelings and how I wanted to work on them.

Then a couple days later, we talked, and got back together. I eventually couldn’t handle being with someone I eventually realized I didn’t really have romantic feelings for anymore, so I pretty much out of the blue broke up with him. I didn’t want to waste his time on being with someone like me.

He said I pretty much broke his heart and that it’s my fault that I’m like this. And I’m just, sad but honesty pissed too. Just because he likes me doesn’t mean I have to suffer being with someone I don’t like.

Now I’m hearing from a mutual friend that he thinks I’m the asshole and an emotionless horrible bitch and I’m just shocked. Ive been working through a lot of depression and emotional issues and it sucks to be constantly told that I’m the enemy and the problem. We dated for 2 months, it’s not like we were married for 20 years and one day I decided to pack my shit and leave.

I know I have some communication issues, but I really tried to work on them throughout our relationship. It felt a little draining being with him sometimes because he was pushy and overbearing and I couldn’t always give him the attention he wanted.

And now apparently he’s spreading stuff behind my back to a mutual friend, calling me an emotionless bitch among other things. I’m honestly just tired of being treated like everything is always my fault. I can’t solve everyone’s emotional issues when I have a buttload of them myself.
