Just block him and move on right now. He knows what he's up to - he just wants to see how far he can push things with you. He's just playing with you to boost his ego. Can I get her to sleep with me if I don't take her out to dinner?, etc. Get rid of him now before you become more attached.

If he's not giving it to you, waiting around hoping he will might not work. If he doesn't even have the decency to take you on a real date, what kind of man is he? Doesn't sound worth the trouble really. Find a guy who treats you right instead of plays you.

Seriously, get out now. 8 months and he hasn't taken you on an actual date, AND hasn't made it official? What are you waiting for? For him to waste more of your time?

I just got out of a "situationship", but the guy actually took me on 2 dates before he kept asking for house dates. Just like your guy, he would make plans and then cancel, repeatedly. I also really liked this dude. He strung me along for a total of 2 months and then hit me with "I just can't be in a relationship right now but let's stay friends!" Blocked and deleted. But I made it very clear throughout that I want a relationship and wasn't willing to wait, esp after a couple months.

So, yeah, it won't get better. He'll keep stringing you along as long as you let him.

What is he giving you that is worth any of your time? Go out with girlfriends instead of hanging on his couch. Go to the gym instead of tending to his needs. Take yourself out to the restaurants he won't visit. He needs to be deleted.
