We’ve probably all seen the “How To Talk To Girls Wearing Headphones” garbage that was roundly and appropriately savaged by every corner of the internet. But can we talk about how TO be approached in public?

We’ve largely concluded that OLD is a goddamned nightmare (on a good day). So where ARE we meeting men? How are we communicating that we are open to being approached?

I have almost no suggestions on this because I never get approached. One of the reasons I suspect this is true for me is because I am frequently alone, even in very social spaces, and I think that freaks people out a little. OTOH, I’ve often seen women say that when they are out with their girlfriends, they are also not interested in being approached (I’ve felt this, too). Sometimes I just wish I could wear a flower on one side or the other to let people know. :)

So let’s talk about this. I’m eager to hear your experiences and suggestions.
