Best instrument to play

For me, guitar. It's not that difficult to pick up the chords and you can play a ton of stuff when you do. A good quality Yamaha acoustic is about $150.

Bass is needed in every band, from jazz to rock to bluegrass to punk to classical to chamber music. And relatively easy (although no instrument is easy).

Which ever on you like enough to commit to playing. Piano, or guitar would be best.

Depends on level of commitment. Guitar is pretty easy after the first few months of grinding and even that rock smith game on PlayStation is actually not too bad after you learn the basics. Piano is more complicated IMO but you can do a lot more with it. If you enjoy rock music, guitar is awesome because it’s relatively easy to find the music for it online and learn how to play your favorite songs.

The best?

Cello by far in my eyes, it produces the frequency closest to the human voice and Bach’s Cello Suites are arguably the greatest collection of solo work ever assembled. If you could whip out a few select movements and shred, you’ll be a god in anyone’s eyes that hasn’t heard it before.

It is difficult, but not too bad if you commit and has brought me a lot of joy.

Highly recommend.

But guitar and piano are a walk in the park (relatively speaking) and convey the fundamentals of music theory far more simply.
