I recently deactivated Facebook. Not sure when I'll reactivate it. Pre-COVID, it was a great platform for finding and planning events. Now it's worthless.

I have a legitimate diagnosis for major depression, not bragging because that's fucked up, but I will say that avoiding the news and emotional outbursts by "victims" has helped me keep things mostly controlled. We all have enough going on in our lives, no need to pile on more unnecessary shit.

I'm reading a book right now called "The Luck Factor". It's based on a premise that "luck" is actually a set of psychological characteristics.

One of the things that distinguishes lucky from unlucky people is that lucky people have a positive outlook about the future. I can't imagine they spend much time reading the news.
