Jio and Airtel are both mobile network companies. Jio is run by the richest man in India, while Airtel is the 3rd largest mobile network company in the world. Both network companies are used by majority of Indians.

I don't think it's a controlling move. Sounds like pure business to me. Must've been a deal with Google. Drop DDG from your ISP.

TBH, DDG is a pretty shitty search engine itself. If you want full privacy, go VPN + Mozilla Firefox Privacy Version + Incognito. You can use Google and they won't be able to track you much.

This move must've been bringing the cash flow for both Jio and Airtel who are running on thin borders.

If you use a proper VPN, your ISP can't tell what sites you're visiting.

Some browsers allow you to change the "browser user agent" value to whatever you want. You could set it to Mozilla or chrome. This way you could bypass the filters.
