White people enslaved more white people than any other group. Blacks sold blacks in high numbers.

The main thing people need to realize is that it's not always about race. In actuality, it's usually about money (or resources).

To be fair, at the time, Irish people (Catholics in general) were not considered white. There was a time not too far ago in U.S. history when "white" meant northern European, Protestant, English/Germanic/Scandinavian. The definition of "white" has changed over time. Today, "white" means basically anyone who is pale and does not appear to have African or indigenous heritage. People have forgotten that in 1960, there was a debate going on in the U.S.: could we actually elected a Catholic man as president (JFK)? People have forgotten that 100 years ago, the KKK was as anti-Catholic and anti-Jewish as it was anti-Black.
Yes, it is true that black people aren't the only people who were mistreated in the past. But that doesn't negate the fact that black people in the U.S. have legitimate grievances about how they have been and still are treated by the system.
History is filled with horrific events and situations. But to bring up the mistreatment of your ancestors in order to justify negating someone else's legitimate complaint is a dick move.

This post feels like some propaganda meant to stoke emotional grievance in order to shut down critical thinking, even if it is based in factual history. Victimhood is a hell of a drug and I would encourage you not to partake in it.

Slavery and slave trading had been part of European experience long before the beginning of the transatlantic slave trade. It was most widespread in the continuing conflict between Christians and Muslims in the Mediterranean. There, and around the Black Sea, slaves were created as each side enslaved the other as part of the spoils of war. The numbers were enormous – indeed as late as the mid 17th century, far more European slaves were held in Islamic regions (where the ownership of Muslim slaves was prohibited) than Africans were shipped into the Americas.

There's still a lot of anti irish/traveller sentiment going around. Tyson Fury said something about it the other day, hugely respect that man btw.

I'll get a lot of hate for this, but it's for a good reason. You try running a business with a heavy Irish traveller population. It's impossible. Between the thefts and punch-ups you have to deal with the threats to yourself and any calls to the police get met with cries of "racism" .

Most people today are descended from peasants and serfs. They were tied to their liege lord and his land... they worked his land, but couldn't just pack up and leave.
