I.T. is where the money is at. I would not leave that job I would use it to grow a life you want. Money is power and you can do a lot with it.

If your work life is low energy and dull then make your PLAY life exicting and loud. start a fucking rock band or something. if you are smart enough to do computers i'm sure you are smart enough to learn the bass guitar.

work out, travel, get a nice car, nice clothes, get a cool look, shit just cause your job sucks your life doesn't have to.

Do it. I made the same switch towards Sales. At the end of each day I felt like I was wasting my social skills and not doing anything that was positive for me outside of work. Now I cold call all day every single day and am constantly outside of my comfort zone. It has done heaps for both my energy and social skills.

How far you in your career path? Are you good at it? Does it pay well right now? Do you enjoy the actual work? No need to switch a good career path to be “more manly”. I would be a professional masterbater if it paid well enough. Do the job you want, and that will make you some money. You’re the one who has to do it 8+ hours a day, not the stupid girl at target that watches you unable to tie something on your car that you wished you could’ve impressed (nobody could give a fuck about this btw). If you want to change careers because of other reasons, then go for it. You can learn to be more manly without changing from a good job though

This user nailed it. Get into something deeper like networking, systems, or devops. Its not to say this fields dont have losers in them but your work gets way more interesting and TBH I have met some Red Pilled dudes in this line of work. I have also met plenty of beta faggots. You should surround your self with good/positive people at the end of the day. Alpha or Beta it dosent matter as long as they dont add toxicity to your life. That sounds odd in this forum but being around negative people all day will eventually drain you and you will turn negative also as you stated. Be the fucking man of the group dont follow other people.

If your looking for "manly" traits learn woodworking or other things as a hobby.

Im going on a bit of a rant here but your looking at this wrong.

I didn't know to properly tie down something to the top of my car. Felt like a total bitch. I'd feel completely emasculated if I had a female with me, watching me fail. So I started learning to tie knots the other day lol. (And there are plenty of other things I have to learn. How to use power tools, etc.)

A) Why do you even care about what she thinks. Everyone fails. Not everyone knows everything. You can joke about you fucking up tying a knot. Who gives a shit. You live and learn. Part of being a man is accepting/owning your failures and bad decisions as well as making good ones and successes.

B) Dont just make grand assumptions about an entire field. Sure IT has a lot of geeky nerdy beta people but there are alot of smart Type-A people in it as well. These people exists in all career paths. The scale may differ depending on the field but you will meet all types in every career.

C) You would be surprised the amount of "manly" shit you can do in IT that a girl would not give two shits about. Data Centers dont build themselves. Meanwhile a chick only gives a shit if you can fix a drawer or a fence because its looks so "manly".

You feel like everybody's little bitch boy at their diposal. Get into development or some kind of analytics, or get educated in something entirely different.
