There are a lot of women out there that won't date men who've gone to sex workers because so many of the women are victims of sex trafficking. People can have whatever preference they want in dating as long as their not hypocritical about it. There are also plenty of guys who have dated and married sex workers. If you don't feel a sex worker is worth having a relationship with, don't go to them for sex, cultivate a relationship with a person you respect.

Everyone has deal breakers. If someone asked, I'd say I'd never date former KKK or former redpiller. Even if they say they don't live that life anymore.

It depends on the sex work. onlyfans is a lot different than stripping is a lot different than prostitution, but it's all under the umbrella of sex work. Also the reason someone goes into that field can vary a LOT, from that being their only option to make a living to needing the quick cash for an addiction, and there are many women who chose to do sex work because they actually like the work and like what it pays. It's not always a last resort. I think the big picture here is that you don't have to date someone who is/was a sex worker if that makes you uncomfortable, but they still deserve the same respect as anyone else.

No one can force you to change a preference.
But also lots of men don't mind it - many pornstars have husbands and boyfriends. You can't really say most, as you can't speak for them.

I've personally never understood this. Like, a former porn star for a GF? A girl who's both hot and knows exactly what she's doing? Sign me up! As long as the girl is STD-free, doesn't have a kid, and generally has her life together (has a job, not on drugs, isn't a narcissist, compulsive liar, etc) what's the problem?

This is one of those things where it's like 'obviously you can have preferences and when it comes to sexual partners and attraction there's nothing that can or even should change your mind' - HOWEVER when you get to the bottom of the real why in these scenarios, there's usually some bigoted nonsense at the end. This is OK as we all have our bits and pieces, but it's not good when you don't admit that and just stick blindly to the term 'preferences' like a life boat. For example, lots of people are like 'im not attracted to x race' which again is fine and you can't change it but when you get down to it, there's usually some stereotype about that race they're thinking of that turns them off - and that sucks; for them, for everyone.

So same thing here - why would you never with a sex worker? Because you think they're sluts or 'used up'? Because you think there's a higher chance of STIs? Because you're worried they have loose morals, are naturally promiscuous, would cheat? Have mental health issues? Some of these things are genuine worries where yeah it might be likely there's a higher incidence in sex workers. Others are straight up wrong and very insulting.

I just want people to think about these things, be self critical.

Also in another comment you said men who see sex workers are gross - that's one of the badly wrong things here. There are lots of types of sex workers and lots of different people who go see them. Let's not do that here.

Generally speaking, the less sex experience a man has the smaller chance he has with successful dating, and the more sex experience a woman has the smaller chance she has with successful dating. Women tend to want a more experienced man, and men tend to want a woman who hasn't been with a multitude of partners. Both sexes have to deal with the ramifications of that reality. It's difficult and perhaps unfair, but there's nothing right or wrong about it, it's just the way things are.
