AHH so relatable. I lost 75 pounds before meeting my trash ex. He literally made fun of my progress and told me he was going to sabotage me. The pickme version of me thought he was being loving & accepting of me, but now I look back and realize he wanted to control me.

I notice that FAMILY will often sabotage women who try to become healthier/exercise/lose weight.
Sabotage from friends/family is probably one of the biggest barriers to losing weight and adopting a healthy lifestyle that NO ONE seems to acknowledge.
For many women, we are groomed from birth to be "obedient" to others in terms of what we eat and cook, how much we eat. Most holidays are saturated with foods and traditions-- and the responsibility for cooking them and maintaining those traditions are always dropped in the laps of women.
We're chastised as being abnormal and antisocial if we don't partake in unhealthy eating habits that our families/ SOs want to participate in.
Women are often expected to make meat and potatoes meals for men in their lives-- when those kinds of meals are not the healthiest for the women who make them. I know a ton of women who admittedly make unhealthy food they themselves don't like in order to please their husbands/boyfriends.
Don't get me started on sabotage regarding working out/going to the gym. I got a ton of flack and grief for going to the gym while my child was young. People are super-quick to criticize women who do ANYTHING for themselves if children are in the picture. Not to mention-- it's difficult to find time to exercise when you're a woman and are saddled with the majority of housecleaning tasks.
