This is a repost of a Humans of New York post. A woman was dating this guy, who impregnated another woman named Stacie. Stacie ended up a single mom. Meanwhile, the main woman stayed with him and hated Stacie. Then the guy knocked HER up, and she realized he was a LVM. She committed to being a single parent. She connected to Stacie, who she used to hate, bc she felt overwhelmed and alone. They became close friends, their daughters became friends, they even lived together at times. They have a lifelong friendship and consider eachother sisters. Oh and they married other men and were maids of honor for each other.

It's rare to see something like this come out of such an ugly situation. Female friendship, FTW.

It's sad that both of them have met such an awful man, but it's sweet and touching that they now are best friends.

Idk.... I just can’t with women who decide to have a kid with a NVM. I’m not talking about the women who realize it much later.

This woman decided he was NV and left him when she decided to have the kid. Why would you put your baby at a disadvantage like that? Battles to get the child support you deserve, dealing with someone who likely won’t want to see their kid. Your kid is always going to feel like their dad didn’t love them.

I just don’t get it. This isn’t heartwarming at all to me. This is just someone who is continuing chaos for her child’s life too.

I feel for these women. Cheating is so normalized that when men do this they have no consequences. That’s why I’ve learned not to tie loyalty to my ego. When I get a sense that a guy is being disloyal instead of wondering what I did, I see their character flaw. It’s not my job to be the woman that changes him. It’s human to feel bad after cheating but expecting loyalty rather than working for it allows you to move on much easier. This is also why you continue vetting a man even when you’re married. You never know what they’re capable of.
