Should I cut my hair? I am in my late fifties, but I still have a beautiful head of healthy brown hair with only a few grays that I take care of when needed with box dye. It is long, down to the bra strap on my back and naturally straight and I usually wear it pulled back into a pony tail or a bun. I have bangs, but the rest of my hair is one length. On special occasions I will curl it and wear it down and although I feel very feminine and attractive wearing my hair this way I am not so sure it is appropriate. I have had so many people comment about the length of my hair and women accuse me of extensions, I am now hesitant to wear it down. I am small and I have a small face so perhaps the long hair is too much. I always wore my hair chin length or shorter when I was young and into my forties. However, I always secretly longed for long hair even though it was time consuming and impractical in my lifestyle. When I turned fifty I decided that if I wanted long hair I had better do it, it was my last chance, and I let it grow. I do enjoy my long hair. I love how it makes me feel. At the same time I do not want to embarrass myself. I don’t mind being viewed as an earth muffin; I just don’t want to appear ridiculous. I am sure your first suggestion will be to wear my hair in a way that pleases my man, but really and truly he could give a rat’s ass about my hair as long as I don’t get a pixie ( which I could never do because I have large ears) or a perm. This post may seem rather shallow as a first time post from a new contributor, but I really would appreciate your opinions.
