I recently ended things with a guy I was dating long distance. We dated for three months and when I asked to be official he said he couldn't do long distance (he stated up front that he's a busy person and LDRs hadn't worked for him in the past).
I have since gone no contact with him for a few weeks now. I have been trying to keep myself busy with work and going to the gym but I simply don't have the motivation right now. I feel guilty for having sex with a guy before being his girlfriend and putting myself in the fuck buddy territory. I'm normally not like this but being long distance we wanted to have sex after talking for a month. He treated me well, went on dates, and talked everyday, but he still couldn't commit. I guess I'm frustrated because I tried being more feminine and it didn't work.
I don't like having a victim mentality and blaming the guy for everything. I know I have things to work on too, just not always sure what they are! I want to grow from this and learn from it.
A bit more about myself! I think I'm quite attractive. I'm 5'7", 125 pounds, naturally thin but I want to gain muscle. Long brown hair with highlights. I wear makeup, get my nails done, I self tan, get lash extensions, etc. I'm working on getting Invisalign to improve my smile and I'm on a skincare regimen to get rid of some light acne scarring (it's almost gone, yay!).
I have also worked to be more feminine my quitting cursing, cutting back on alcohol (haven't had alcohol in almost three months, rarely drank before), learning to STFU instead of nagging, letting the guy initiate/take control more often, and trying to stay positive and warm instead of bitching about my day.
I know RPW says men don't care about your career but I do have my life together. I make $50-$60k a year working four days a week with a flexible schedule. I live in a nice apartment and can afford a nice lifestyle for myself. I like to take a few vacations a year and would love to date a guy who enjoys traveling too. I tend to be a homebody the rest of the time so maybe that's why I have a hard time finding guys.
And since I know it will be asked - I'm turning 27 next month and I've only had sex with three men. My longest relationship was 1.5 years but most of my relationships last 3-4 months. Years ago I used to break up with guys who were lazy and had no ambition. Now relationships aren't working out because the guy is so busy with his career that he doesn't prioritize relationships. It's hard finding the in between.
I plan on staying in monk mode for a little while but what's my problem? What can I do to improve myself? Thank you :)
