Man here. Hope this is appropriate for this forum.

My wife and I occasionally have to spend a week or more apart due to work. It last happened in 2019 and its happening now for three weeks while she cares for sick relatives. We do video calls I see all of her family, etc. I am 100% sure she's caring for them and support her 100%.

She's a bit of a butterfly (all over the place, doesn't keep a daily schedule). I'm not a military person but in terms of schedule I am - up early, detailed schedule for working out, work, etc. for 9 hours a day.

Edit: thanks for the responses. I think the consensus was to have a direct conversation and suggest we check in for ten minutes a day when one of us is on the road, and commit to and honor that commitment!
