I spent the last year in nun mode, and I'm ready now to find a relationship. But in the last month I have had the most frustrating experience, over and over, with different men and I am not sure what I'm supposed to do when this happens. None of them are taking the plans we make seriously.

I was being pursued by an ex with a good track record, and agreed to a few dates. Each time the day would roll around, he was completely unconcerned with meeting up. It was like pulling teeth getting him to get off the couch, so I cut contact with him. I met one man who lives about an hour away, and wanted me to get on a train to spend the day together. I don't have a lot of freedom in my schedule, so I suggested he meet me closer to the city. He planned it out but never followed through. And tonight, my date called at 1pm to confirm the date. I got ready. At 5pm he called to say he is still working and wants to reschedule. I was already dressed. These are all guys I'd invested time in getting to know and thought things were going well with.

I feel like I do a decent job of vetting the guys I date. I try to be pretty easy going when planning early dates, but I am kind of shocked at how many times I have found myself, literally, all dressed up with nowhere to go. I am a full time student and work, so my free nights are few and precious. I am tired of waiting around for people who don't take our plans seriously, but I also don't know how to get a solid plan out of man without strong-arming them. I put a lot of effort into getting ready and at this point, it isn't even fun anymore. Half the time, I don't end up going anywhere.
