During high school, I would often hear that dating in NYC is hard, especially for women. I've often heard that "ladies need to step up your game". Rap songs with words like "Bitch" and "Ho" were popular in my high school as well, could this be why?

I remember going to prom with another woman because - and I stated at the time "dating in NYC is hard for women".

It was cringeworthy that just because you were born in Harlem or Staten Island as opposed to Atlanta or Mexico City, it means you have to compete with other women for Mr Big in a much more difficult way than if you were born in those other places.

Moreover guys think NYC chicks are hard, tankgrrl and have the audacity of Nicki Minaj. What gives?

Now, I'm asexual and am just asking out of curiosity. Maybe being born here is why I dropped out of the SMP. But why is dating in NYC considered hard for women and why is many women sharing one guy considered popular here?

So far, I haven't faced any gender discrimination in hiring. What is peoples problem? Do you guys face problems dating women in NYC or NJ as well?
