Why is dating in NYC considered hard for women?

Because, while dick is "cheap and plentiful", high quality dick is rare and expensive. This becomes more pronounced in places like NYC, Moscow, and wherever else it's Expensive As Fuck to live.

Also, when people say "Dating in NYC is hard for women" they really mean "Dating in Manhattan is hard for women". Not sure about the outer boroughs, by which I mean Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx; I've never been to Staten Island and I'm convinced it's just a myth.

Remember, women are hypergamous; single, university-educated, intelligent women are NOT going to give the puss up to some no-talent neckbeard living in his mum's basement in Queens. So there are a shit ton of guys who are simply "invisible" to women. Suzy the NYU grad who works in publishing may like the muscles on Steve the Fireman, but she's not going to marry him -- although Steve is likely not going to care because he's getting plenty of tail.

NYC has a bunch of universities and those populations are going to trend female, except at FIT, where they are going to be 90% female and 10% gay men. The literary types are going to be picky as fuck and they're educated so the write about it all the time (see "Gottlieb, Lori") and so that helps to create an "echo chamber effect".

Also, women come to NYC to be actresses and models and shit, and all that action happens in Manhattan.

So if you're a guy and you can walk upright, speak English, look like you might have a job and have acceptable table manners, you should be swimming in tail. If you are a RP Aware Man, and have "good work" as I like to say, you should REALLY be killing it.

Its because 80% of men are invisible to women.

In NYC, all women only want the top 10% guys, in desperation only they will accept the next 10%. That leaves the lesser 80% absolutely invisible.

They will gladly share the top guys, in hopes that he will end up choosing themselves to finally marry, and share the wealth.

Women in NYC want the easy big win with low risk. The janitor will never be able to meet her high expectations.

More women than men in NYC if i remember correctly. Everywhere else in the country it's the opposite. Men don't have any problems in NY from what i hear.

Spend a lot of time in NYC, (family has a place in midtown i spend 2 months of the year in) and I'll tell you straight.

Tons of high power guys, not a parity of girls. Scarcity at its finest.

The perfect example of a flip of this is military wives, dependapottamouses, tons of in shape in uniform guys, barely any women. The guys do stupid shit all the time from desperation and few are actually alpha, most are just reprogrammed beta's with bodies that aren't horrible. (Average to ugly masculine chicks have the pick of the litter, so they don't have to do fucking anything but be present)

On top of that, only the top of high power guys are even noticed by most girls, (the 80/20 rule shifts scale based in average) so if everyone you meet at indigo is making 130k a year minimum, the girls only see the 500k plus. If everyone is making a million, only the 2 million are worthy, the cycle continues.

I love NYC (wouldn't live there year round) but it's a beautiful example of scarcity flipping the script. At least got the guys who aren't in wm or something similar, but even a wm specialist can make great fucking cash. Every girl there is hot, and none of them have much to offer. To stand out you'll have to be top ten percent in most ways.

Girls are dreamers - and NYC is where dreamers go. It has the "bright lights, big city" adventure draw that all girls crave - and it being the epicenter of the fashion/modeling/entertainment industries (except LA, which is the same in a different way) means that a ton of attractive women move there.

As VZ stated above, for every one Joe Wall Street there are 10,000 average Joe's who are barely making ends meet. The combination of lots of attractive women and lack of successful men means guys have their pick.

The main reason is that women in NYC tend to be very high income earners in a economy that is decimating men's incomes, and the women refuse to date someone that earns less than them, or even that doesn't earn significantly more than them.

Not sure if it counts as evidence, but I lived in NYC for 2 years, and felt a bit scrubby even tho I was making decent 6 figures.

I have a bit of a question.

The term educated. I have a feeling it doesn't mean what I think it means. I have a feeling that it doesn't mean community or city college or even low-ranking state university.

I have a feeling that it only means private school, and also that you attended private secondary school.
