I had laser eye surgery last year and it’s the best thing I’ve ever spent my money on.

The difference in the way people treat you is almost night and day. Glasses act as a barrier to your eyes, which are responsible for so much of your non-verbal communication. People are more likely to judge you as shy and meek, especially if you have a naturally introverted personality anyway.

I’ve noticed a lot of women say they ‘like’ guys with glasses, but this is the same way they ‘like’ guys who are in touch with their feelings and are not afraid to cry. I did actually pull them off, but it doesn’t meant that it still wasn’t a beta trait. It was a weakness and everyone knows it.

It’s also the effect they had on my personality. I remember I would never feel as confident when I had glasses on vs contacts for example. It’s hard to explain but I knew I had a big weakness and that caused a chain effect of other bad habits. Also my glasses would always slide down my face and every time I had to push them up I felt like such a loser.

The final straw for me was wearing covid masks. Glasses would constantly steam up which made me feel like even more of a loser.

I didn’t think my confidence would increase as much as it has, I feel so much more comfortable knowing if I need to fight or chase after someone then I can without worrying about glasses breaking or slipping down my face.

Working out is much more enjoyable without needing lenses, and I don’t need to worry about falling asleep in lenses after a night out or during a camping trip. I’m also able to surf and swim without any constraints. Tip: Do NOT do this with lenses, you will pick up severe bacterial infections which can cause you to go blind (happened to a colleague). Also sex is way better now that I can see what I’m hitting.

My vision is better than 20/20 so it’s actually a big improvement on my vision I had with glasses. I noticed the week after surgery I was spotting details on buildings that I didn’t before.
