I’ve just sent this to my best friend. 23 years she’s been with the worst of all the men I’ve ever known. I think she’s finally seeing the light. She got their house valued yesterday and I’m helping her book an appointment with a solicitor. He doesn’t know any of this.

It took her mum and nan (her whole family essentially) dying in the space of 12 months and him not once comforting her - not once! - for her to stop making excuses for him.

I just really hope she does it this time. Her health is really suffering, the emotional torment can be seen on her skin. Shes suffering from every physical sign of anxiety and it breaks my heart.

She’s such a kind and good person. Her grown up children are polite and loving (despite having that as a father). It’s time to put herself first.
