I was married. Had pretty much all that which you listed (bar the pre-nup).

It's still a fucking ball ache 10 years in. Women can't help but rock the boat. If they are happy with their partner and don't want to branch swing they just find issues in the home that need to be dealt with. As soon as you fix one problem they'll come up with another.

Got my kids admittedly, so I'm happy on that front. But never again.

Jesus Christ, I understand the general attitude towards marriage here but not every single married person you see is unhappy.

Yeah of course there are a lot of shitty marriages, but how much of that is due to people settling, doing the right thing, etc.

If anything RP should make marriage easier. If you actually know what this shit means then you should know how to vet properly, how to treat an LTR, how to live your life as an independent and let her join in. For fucks sake Rollo is even married.

I'd get married if the government didn't fuck me over after I or she was tired of being together.

I've been spinning plates ever since I found this community and read the sidebar. I still haven't figured out the kid part yet, but I rather this lifestyle instead of getting married atm.

Been married twice, and I would never do it again. Wife #1 fleeced me in the divorce. Thought I found a unicorn in wife #2 and she turned out to be a con artist who was only interested in my money. Luckily I had a great attorney and she walked with nothing.

Under no circumstances would I ever get married again.

No...because all the good qualities you mentioned are subject to change and womwn get incentive to leave.

Relationships peak very early on and then start a slow downward spiral from there. Hopefully to plateau at a relatively high point but in most cases it's a low point.

I'm very comfortable with long term relationships but not marriage. Marriage is basically a licence for a woman to not have to be on top of her game anymore. There's no incentive or requirement for them to behave because a divorce is so destructive to a man.

If a woman truly loves you she will stay with you without being married. That's perhaps the truest test you can give her.

You get married to have kids and improve your status in society. Kids grow up better in a married home (the data on this is clear), and your status improves because of tax breaks, and your community will treat you better. People will trust a 40 year old man with kids over a 40 year old single man. There was only one US president who was a bachelor that was never married at any point in time.

But if you don't want kids and don't care what society thinks, then don't get married.

The typical FBI profile for serial killers is single men in their 30s who are succussful.

I got married because I wanted to have kids with her and I thought it would be too difficult in terms of her family if I didn't. And, fair enough, her family did help us out with many things as a reward for taking her off their hands.

After we split up, I asked her if she would have had kids with me if I had refused to get married and she said of course she would. I need not have gone against my principles, as it turned out.

Luckily, we got divorced in a jurisdiction where neither of us had to pay anything to the other and we have joint custody of the kids.

End result: no divorce rape, kids are happy and we are happy.

My conclusion: if you must get married, marry a woman who will make a good mother and who you can divorce without destroying everyone's lives.

Yea, am married and have 3 kids. Would do it again.

She let me live and raise up kids the way I want and her family has cash, which I can borrow at any time.

I like her country too.

Once wife gets older, behind 40s/50s will get more sex outside of marriage. Especially when kids leave home. It makes me sad, sure we have strong partnership bond, but her body gets older & older.

Where is that astonished young hot girl I took virginity 15 years ago. She is still hot, but outside of her prime.

The only reason you should get married is if you want kids. Also if she earns an income similar enough to yours the risk is minimized but then you still might have to pay for lawyer fees if it goes nuclear.

Outside of that, the only other reason you SHOULD marry is if shes much wealthier than you and you can stand to gain from a divorce. This situation is relatively rare but my male cousin married into an old money family.

I got married but had an amicable divorce so it wasnt that bad for me. We still talk on fb sometimes. She initiated it.

If you do get married get a pre-nup
