Give Me Red Pill Advice
I’m looking for red pill perspective on this.
Both my wife and I were (unhappily) married to other people before we got married. She is still in occasional contact with her ex-husband because of their young children. Their communication consists solely of coordinating pick up/drop offs of the kids and occasionally making decisions about the kids. They don’t chat or discuss anything personal. The guy has totally accepted her moving on and I don’t know him that well but he’s never said anything to my face that rubbed me the wrong way. At most he’s just annoying.
He still occasionally upsets my wife by disagreeing on things that pertain to the kids and they are all petty things. For example, he is very controlling when it comes to how his daughters hair is cut. Or he gets upset if the kids don’t have baths after two days over the weekend. Or makes a big scene if he doesn’t like the clothes the kids are wearing when he picks them up.
So my wife is super non-confrontational and gets anxious when we have to see or communicate with him because apparently he was an asshole to her when they were married. She said he was controlling about cleanliness and decision making and would talk down to her and make and lay guilt trips for her not being a better mom. Because of this history she has the same anxious response when she has to interact with him. It’s like she’s bracing for the next shitty thing he’s going to say. She said he makes her skin crawl.
When it comes down to it, the disagreements are so goddamn petty and I can’t believe he would even give a shit about these things. I personally think a girls haircut should be up to the mother to decide.
So far I’ve just ignored all this and have been enjoying the relationship with my wife. I’m focusing and improving myself instead of worrying about whatever mistakes he’s making in his life.
The problem is that their conflicts are so small it doesn’t make sense for me to get involved. If was he yelling at her then I would have something to confront him about.
I have interacted with him a few times 1 on 1 when my wife was busy and he didn’t give me any shit. I thought maybe it would be best for me to handle the communication with him because I really I just want him to stop stressing my woman out. So I do that when i can.
I would just like a red pill perspective on what I can do in this situation. The part that I don’t like is that we can be having a great day but when it comes time to drop of the kids to him, her mood gets all anxious and weird. Maybe I just shouldn’t care? But I would like to make a change if I can.
I know the red pill community would not advice marrying a woman with an ex husband so I already fucked up on that.
