To go deeper? The phenomena is called "Multigenerational Trauma Wave"
When people don't clear our and clean up their emotional wounds, then have children, whom they in turn wound.
Then those child grow and become parents who in turn do another wounding.
From what I've seen? The wave goes back to 1850 (For the current problems)
That events in those generations created emotional problems which were handed down, expanded, and then amplified across generational bands to reach modernity.
As with time being a linear circle, and cultural evolution/devolution being a set cycle, we are contending with the current moment in the set of events in the To-From, United/Divided, Push/Pull.
This has happened before to humanity.
It's just our turn at it.

Mental illnesses and illegal drug use is on the rise when it comes to women. Just because women are privileged, shape the culture and are able to do whatever they want, doesn't mean it's good for them. A lot of people are their own worst enemies. Not everyone can handle privilege, freedom, power etc...
