All negativity comes when you take MGTOW as an ideology.
Take it as a philosophy instead - a stance in living life.

MGTOW is not a rule book to follow, but an empty page where you write your story free from the blotted traces of mainstream culture.

As for me, my hobbies are: music, philosophy, motorcycles, and coffee.

I honestly still experience 'male-mother need', especially in tough times. Doing my best to stay fit in an office work setup. Managing my finances and having a solemn time thinking about the world.

I think an issue in this subreddit is that younger guys have all the knowledge of MGTOW, but next to none of the experiences that so many guys went through before finding fellowship here.

Also, social media is difficult for many to navigate, and guys in general are probably not the most comfortable with the idea of sharing genuine relationships with other guys online without a real social incentive.

If an 18 year old dude came in here and said something along the lines of, "I'm 18 and I never will marry. I'll just work and save until I can retire..." I'd wonder if he's even been hurt yet. I'd think that dynamic could cause negativity, but maybe I'm overthinking.

I like the posts where there's some kind of woman angle. So pursuing hobbies that require lots of time, money and energy to me is valid because if you chase women or are married you can't do that. Same with careers.

I was married for 20 years and it took a few years to make sure my decision to never ever marry again was real. Now I just skip over the no marriage posts because they don't really interest me. I know they are aimed at younger guys or those (foolishly) considering remarrying.

I also wish the negativity in mgtow2 would stay at a low level. I don't think saying it is concern trolling at all. Some guys esp incel types just have a never-ending rage and will shit all over any type of mgtow forum. I don't downvote them but I just skip that content now. I also have ideas for future posts that aren't woman specific but show how being single enhances your ability to do certain things.

I agree with you, but I think there is a deeper reason to explain your observations. Although seemingly negative I think positivity is coming.

I see MGTOW as more of a coming of age with various stages. There has to be a stimulus that causes a man to decide he is going to change his ways. It’s very clear that the entire western world is seeing this stimulus take place and it’s causing a huge influx of young men to finally grow up.

Give it some time, society will sort itself out. Lots of men are stepping up to the plate. That’s positive.

It’s not atypical to other sub Reddit’s. MGTOW is actually fairly reasonable until others come from different subreddits to troll.

I’ve been noticing a trend where people get upset with defending themselves now day. Im a decent fairly gentle human being but living a life where others slander me or not allow me to state my point, well those are bad people to me.

I like to keep my nose outta drama but when someone needs help (not physically or aggressively) to pursue the taming of the human mind I’ll definitely always be there.

I recommend posting the type of content you want to see more of. Odds are, other people feel the same way you do.

It's not a movement. It's just a lifestyle one chooses after weighing the risk / rewards of relationships with women.
When you first wake up from the Matrix, it's natural to be pretty pissed off. And with more and more men doing so, there may be more posts and comments that reflect that Ideally this sub will help get them past that phase.
This sub is nothong like r/incels. They advocated for legalized rape and pedophelia, locking all women up as sex slaves "mad max" style, and all kinds of other really batshit crazy nonsense. So, no, this sub is nothong like r/incels. Period.
When people do the whole "there's only negativity on the sub" it aggravates me. Post yoir own successes then. Be the poster you want to see.

Compared to other subs and forums, this sub has relatively few incel content. MGTOW can seem depressing at first so it's not much of a surprise there is some negativity.

What negativity? If you’re a mgtow then its not negative. Some mgtows are divorced. Some are stuck in a bad marriage and hoping to get out. What you said isn’t an unpopular statement in mgtow communities. It sounds like your a confused fellow. If your looking for the “constructive discussion” That you talk about then you are not going to find it here. You see mgtow as a community is a new idea. It doesnt have a support network. Its hated by feminists. Feminists control most if not all media rn. Also if you think mgtow is like incels then you don’t know what mgtow is. Mgtow arent involuntarily celibate. If they are mgtow, they voluntarily are celibate. And involved in other things.

Its not like the "negative" will disapear when you stop talking about it. Part of mgtow is to share information about negative experience with women. I dont see it as negative when people who got scammed warn me about the scam.

I agree in this point, there is a lot of self-victimization here, it annoys me, so I stay away. I hate really hate this AWALT comments for example, as if the English Queen or Meghan Markle are the same type of women. BUT: It seems to be, that in the age of Tinder times has changed, more and more women meet the same guys, complain brainless about their behavior, and more and more young men got Incels (in the actual meaning). The last one has to get a positive spin in their life's, being not dependent on women. Maybe they have to find their own way. Maybe we should be careful to interact with different ages, because the problems are/ were different. But in my experience it is never good to victimize yourself. You have to accept the others, that means that we have to accept / ignore the complainers and take actions to make our lives better.
