A 40 year old man that has been working for over 20 years, building up a stream of passive income, and seen a couple generations come and go won't be interested in a 20 year old woman.

The number of 20 year old women suitable to be wives and mothers is far outnumbered by the number of eligible bachelors who have their shit together.

Not to mention, those women still haven't figured out the difference between getting a man and keeping a man.

However, I still believe that as marriage rates continue to plummet, it will be the feminists proposing arranged marriages. I'm willing to bet on it.

She is entitled to 50% of his property and all future income. If she has kids during marriage, (even if they aren't his biological kids).. He is liable to pay child support.

40+ year old women believe they have a God-given right to date men their own age. Nevermind that they dated forty-year-old men in their twenties. They want to date forty-year-old men now.

But affluent forty-something men can date 21-year-old women (I can personally attest to this). And forty-something women see that as a direct threat to their gravy train (I can attest to this too).

Because people will think that due to him being double her age, there will be some sort of power dynamics where he's holding all the cards, forcing her to do his bidding and controlling her every move, limiting her freedom to "find herself" and so on.

They think the man will groom them and mold them into their perfect woman (nevermind the fact that the brain stops near the age of 25 and the legal age around the world on average is 18)

At some point, they might raise the legal age to 25. And I wholeheartedly support it. Let them dig their grave and jump in it.

The kind of marriage arrangement you're envisioning would work great with robots that just did pure cost/benefit calculations and possessed no overriding desires, but that is not how humans work.

Women of almost any age prefer men their own age or slightly older.
Men of almost any age prefer women aged between 19 and 23.

Those two facts set the parameters within which men and women both will make their respective calculations.

This is incorrect on a bunch of levels:

1: men experience less fertility as they age, not as dramatically as women, but certainly so. 30 year old men have children with a higher rate of birth defects than 20 year olds, for example.

2: most people decide to get their shit together in their 20s. If you’re not a lawyer by 30, you’re probably never going to be a lawyer. A 40 year old working at Walmart is going to have less income than a 20 year old lawyer, and a 40 year old lawyer would have been better off having kids as a 20 year old lawyer.

3: 40 year olds are old, obviously. They can’t run around and play with their kids like a 20 year old can. And they’re going to be going to practice baseball with them into their late 50s, early 60s. Obv a 30 year old is gonna have an easier time running around and playing sports with kids, without injuring himself.

4: what does a 40 year old have in common with a 20 year old? That means a weaker marriage, stronger possibility of divorce, less ideal child rearing. A loving, stable marriage is important for raising children that can handle the real world

5: “raising kids with a nanny is idiotic” - not really. How much does a nanny cost, 10-15$/ hour? Unless you’re both working minimum wage jobs, it makes sense

If i gave you a choice between a thing that you want, and a thing that you don’t want, what would you choose? So what you're saying is that young women should throw away any independence and life skills they could gain from having a career or going to university just so they can have the children of some 40 year old man who they were forced to marry. Because you are referencing arranged marriages right? Essentially you're a misogynist, you would prefer women to be baby making, sex machines who clean and cook for you while you work and then come home to ignore the kids because of your long day at work and rely on your young wife to take care of you... I mean you could essentially just hire a team of people to cook and clean for you if you've amassed such wealth at 40 (which these days is relatively difficult).

Let's be real, the reason people think its bizarre for 40 year old men to date 20 year old women is because the age and maturity difference is huge. A 20 year old girl just left her teens, TEENS as in 13-19 those years where you're still considered youth or a child, she finished high school two years ago, she may be in university, she wants to experience life, travel, learn, work, party... a 40 year old man on the other hand is settling down, he can't go out until 4am anymore, hangovers last days rather than 1, he has to focus on working and making money and a name for himself. And frankly, a 20 year old women couldn't care less about that, sure it's on her radar, but her early 20s are for fun, not for marrying some man she doesn't even love just to have kids for him. That's sick.

So if you want to find some young 20 year old to marry go for it, but you should also be aware that women can have children from 10-55, further, their peak of fertility is anywhere from 16-33. Be real, this isn't about 20 year olds being at their fertility peak, it's about you not wanting to date older women because clearly they have the maturity to recognize that you're not the kind of man they'd want to marry.

Kids fathered by men over 40 tend to have a higher risk of physical/mental problems so it's actually the worst time for a man to have kids, a man is in his prime around late twenties to mid thirties.

Although most men over 40 do tend to have good financials and could get with someone in their twenties and basically just take care of them and raise them up and such like you saud and I'm sure there's plenty of single moms so you could have kids by adoption

Because there’s a lot more to marriage than sex children and money. People who are 40 have a lot more and a lot different life experience than those who are 20. There just isn’t nearly as much that a 40 year old can relate to a 20 year old. And that relatability and emotional compatibility is more important than those other factors for a happy marriage. And people are just generally more attracted to people their own age. Women are just people too and they base their relationships on happiness just the same way men do.

My parents were almost these exact ages when I was conceived and they seem a lot happier and content than some of their friends married at similar ages.
