I’m surprised no one mentioned Buddhism as it is the ultimate MGTOW religion. When I was a Monk in there was no contact with women what so ever a handshake or contact was a huge no no.

I consider myself spiritual. I think that all religions have a core belief system that everyone should structure their lives around. I would recommend reading "The Power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle. If you are on a spiritual journey, this book will be a good place to start.

Up untill last year i was an atheist, then i started getting interested in sustainability, then permaculture, then paganism. And after even realizing it i was praying to Athena and Ares. Beware praying for pagans is not asking sombody else to give you something, it is not begging for a miracle like the christians do. It is asking yourself to express at the best of your capabilities the traits that defines a certain deity. Am I in a sistuation wher i need courage? I ask the Ares in my inner self, to me, to bring out the courage i know I have.

At any rate, religion as an ideology doesn’t control anyone. People let themselves be controlled. The same can happen with any grouping of people and ideas. People were axe fodder for Valhalla before they were canon fodder for the kingdom of heaven, and many people have given themselves to the almighty government through the religion of statism, so on and so forth.

Christianity used to be an edgelord religion where it’s adherents were slaughtered by everyone else. Now it’s the largest religion. Point being that anything can be corrupted or usurped. Even MGTOW.

I’m getting into western escoterism. I was raised orthodox Christian, which is paganism with a Christ-layer.

I voted other: I think it's likely we're living in a simulation, and we can choose to move to a different simulation in the next lifetime if we want. A lot of spirituality is true in the sense that we can reach out to other consciousness in other simulations (or maybe even the base reality) for help in growing spiritually faster in this simulation.

I do believe in the teachings of a lot of religions, there’s strong morals and learning lessons in them if you heed their words... but I think it’s fine to pick and choose, because in my opinion they were written by men who had their own societal norms, think “treat others as you would be treated” good “owning slaves and not eating pork” bad lol Personally I think we’re just highly intelligent animals with really good memories... and we’ve reached a point now where things are so comfortable and easy and entertainment and dopamine hits are so readily available that we have no clue what to consciously do with ourselves, we have little need for those subconscious “flow states” that got us here... most are just aimlessly wandering running off habitual patterns and systems.... pretty sure we’re fucked, most people can’t escape these patterns, they just dig themselves deeper into them

Animism probably best describes what I believe, based on family culture(s) — one half is socialite Catholics and food-pinching Protestants (show up to certain social functions with enough "I love god" on your lips as a password for the free food), always bogtrotting heathens that still talk about fairies and not walking under ladders. The other half are flip-a-coin, sometimes-Orthodox, sometimes-Muslim, while again, "superstitions" and taboo are what actually matter/is consistent. In short: not much "god," but plenty of "ghosts and goblins," lol.

I picked "Other," because while I believe in God and the afterlife, I wouldn't say I believe in the God of the Bible (although there's overlap). My beliefs come more from studying religious and spiritual writings, as well as the afterlife literature (NDEs, etc.) and intelligent design, combined with my own experiences. It's kind of a mish-mash, but I try to make sense of it all.

Although I tried to fit myself into Christianity for a long time, ultimately I realized it was a round hole and I was a square peg. There is just too much I disagree with or find mistaken about traditional and especially fundamentalist Christianity (though I do find some commonality with more "liberal" Christians).

I didn't realize there was a Christian MGTOW group. I'll have to check that out.
