Have you had a discussion with a feminist about feminism? If so, how did it went?

A girl in my grade is a feminist and we had a very pleasant conversation about how both genders face prejudices and disadvantages and how we’re only equal when we work to help both sides.

Feminism is a religion, same with Intersectionality.

Saying the Patriarchy doesn't exist is like telling a Muslim 'Allah isn't real'.

I don't bother any more because I'm sure they know they're wrong but will not admit so why bother.

I made a post about an hour ago and it got removed instantly, no explanation, I attempted to contact the mods but messages won't go through. What the fuck do I do?

I find it depends on the kind of feminist you talk to. I know that in this sub it's popular to lump them all together, but they're about as different as MensRights is from MensLib.
RadFems are terrible to talk to. It's like talking to AntiVaxxers or QAnons, or religious fanatics. No way to get any logic across to them. Intersectional Feminists, I feel, are more connected to reality. They see that different groups have different struggles and some are willing to accept that yes men have struggles too. They don't just talk about feminism they talk about equity for other groups of people, including trans men and gay men.

I have had a few rare instances where I met a feminist on the street and we have managed to have a civil discussion about both women and men's issues and how both feminist and MRA's have their share of bad apples that tarnish the overall goals of both groups...

But those are extremely rare..

Most of my discussions with feminists either end up with said feminist:

Giving false platitudes for the issues I bring up affecting men before steering the conversation back to how bad woman have it i.e "I agree that men make up the majority of homelessness but what you don't understand is that woman still have it worse....."
Claiming that every single issue affecting men that I bring up is entirely the fault of the 'Patriarchy' and that once the 'Patriarchy' has been dismantled then the issues men face will be fixed.. all while completely ignoring the fact that SOME of the issues facing men are actually caused by women and not the patriarchy.. For example.. its not 'Patriarchy' that allows women to make false rape accusations against men and they are believed without question.. its not 'Patriarchy' that assumes men are the aggressors in DV situations and doesn't even acknowledge that men can be victims of DV let alone rape...
Shutting me down by claiming that because I am a "Cis-Hetronormal (Thanks for assuming my sexuality, btw i'm actually Bi)-White-Man that I am "Privileged" and thus she doesn't need to listen to or accept anything I say.. That or she will claim that I am 'Mansplaining' to her in an effort to shame me and shut down the conversation... or it usually devolves into shouting that i'm a Misogynistic Incel crybaby.. but hey what can you do?

All of this is more likely to happen when discussing things online, that being said I have also had a unicorn encounter online with a feminist who seemed willing to engage and wanted to learn more about issues affecting men while also wanting to bring more awareness to issues facing women.. but finding one of those is like finding the holy grail...

When I called out the bollocks feminism is, I was told they 'aren't true feminists' The thing is the stuff I called out isn't even extreme. It's stuff done by most feminists. If most feminists do it, that is what makes it true feminism.

If hypothetically, most men's rights members were misogynists, it would be a misogynist movement.

It's like a 'nazi' saying that being a Nazi isn't about racism, it's just some extreme ones.

I then proceed to show her that I probably know about feminism and its dark sides way more than her, using documents and statistics about things like DV, the duluth model, rape statistics, etc etc in order to prove that most of their "arguments" are nonsense and that they're the direct CAUSE of many problems (like battered men not speaking up because they are likely to be arrested for it).

Actually it depends. Some of them are sensible and we could come to agreement. However, it applies to feminists in Russia.

It seems feminists I meet here on reddit tend to be too indoctrinated and have black and white world view.

I've spoken with a few about feminism. Some were easier to talk to than others. But there wasn't a lot of consistency between different individuals.
