Just over two-thirds of men and boys have not been subjected to the mutilation, and of those who are subjected to it, few are put through it that young. It's basically Jews, Americans, and a small number of Muslims (the rest of that last one are subjected later) who do it to newborn babies.

It's just as disgusting at any age though.

Not just that, but their bodily autonomy. It happens to thousands of boys a day and doesn't even make a headline.

One girl has it done and it's national outrage for weeks.

Circumcision for anyone who cannot consent for themselves should be illegal, that’s it, it’s no “decision” for anyone else to make but the person whose body it is. It happened to me as a baby in Canada and I have hated it my entire life, I would have given anything for doctors to respect my body and my rights.

Long ago circumcision was to be for boys to not masturbate. So I mostly feel it is hard to believe that at one point it was to stop boys from feeling pleasure to all of a sudden a benefit if that makes sense. (unless medically needed of course)

Some people think the idea that a men should be able to choose whether he wants to keep his whole penis is ridiculous, and counter with things like "Should we let our kids decide whether they want to eat vegetables or go to school?" as though these things are even remotely comparable. I don't understand their mentality, I really don't.

It's pretty damn culturally enforced in the US. A lot of women, particularly those in high school and college, profess to find uncut penises "disgusting." Ironically, a lot of them don't recognize the difference when the guy pulls the foreskin back.

Society will absolutely not instill any masculine traits in your kid. You can either move out to the country and live in a small town or best option instill it yourself.

It is the harsh reality and as fathers it is our duty to bring up men who are strong in society and prefer being a masculine man.

Truth be told the ladies will love it as well

Oh yeah, in an outdated belief to reduce the amount of pleasure men can feel.

That's one of the pretexts, but probably not the primary one.

The primary rationale - perhaps valid at one time - was one of health in societies without modern hygiene. That is, in ancient societies, a moist, dark, enclosed environment and/or smegma may have been thought conducive to infection, etc. That rationale no longer exists in advanced societies.
I suspect "reducing pleasure" to be an after-the-fact pretext for continuing social or religious habit when the primary rationale no longer exists.
